As Beomgyu gradually regained consciousness, he initially felt a numbing sensation throughout his body. With a bit of relief, his senses soon returned, and he found himself able to move. His body felt slightly cramped as he reached for the glasses covering his eyes. The muffled sounds and rustling of the unfamiliar environment encircled him. As he removed the glasses, the initial blur subsided, revealing his surroundings.

There it was—the room where it had all begun, the room where it might all end. It was a place that held the memories of his childhood but had also been the stage of a tragic day. This was the first time he had returned since that fateful incident, and a mix of emotions washed over him.As he was contemplating his surroundings, a reassuring touch fell upon his shoulder. Yeonjun knelt beside him, his eyes filled with concern. "Are you okay?" he asked. Beomgyu nodded, though the truth was far from fine.

As Beomgyu regained his composure and stood upright, he noticed Yeonjun doing the same. Glancing around the room, he saw Kai and Soobin, along with two additional individuals, all quietly inspecting the room. Beomgyu was aware that this top portion of the castle was no longer in use, with a noticeable absence of guards. But rather than being reassuring, it left him feeling more unsettled than ever.

Soobin approached Yeonjun, speaking in almost a whisper, "Weren't they supposed to come back today? It's so quiet outside." He had clearly noticed the unusual hush that had fallen over the palace, despite the Prince and Princess's scheduled return from their honeymoon.Yeonjun nodded, confirming Soobin's suspicions. "They're already back, or so Jimin told me."This revelation left Soobin and the others pondering the situation. Soobin ventured, "So this means..."Yeonjun began to outline their plan, moving back and forth in contemplation. "As we know, there'll be a celebration today, so everyone will show up. The guards will be occupied."Kai raised an important point. "Didn't you say Prince Ben never shows up in front of anyone except officials?"Yeonjun acknowledged this fact. "That's right, but they're probably very concerned about his security."Kai thought for a moment and inquired further, "Our people are down there too, right?"Yeonjun nodded, saying, "I'm waiting for their message. 'Your asshole Majesty' is probably in his highly secured room, thinking he's just a fucking florist."

And here it was. the side of yeonjun's personality which scared beomgyu.

Kai paced back and forth around the window, the very window that Yeonjun had—*beep, beep*—an alarm in his pocket interrupted his thoughts. He grabbed his phone, read the message intently, and then reported, "The party has started, but there's still no sign of any of the royal members."Beomgyu couldn't help but blurt out, "What about Prince Ben?" His heart raced, knowing the implications of his absence. Had Charlotte already won over the parliament and courthouse? And where was his dad? Yeonjun handed him a costume, a jacket that was the official uniform of the top-class palace servants. Both Beomgyu and Yeonjun donned the uniform. Soobin chimed in, "Beomgyu looks good," prompting Yeonjun to playfully add, "He does look good." Soobin sighed comically, and Beomgyu couldn't help but realize that this could very well be his last day with all of them.

Yeonjun placed a reassuring hand on Beomgyu's shoulder and softly said, "Let's go." Beomgyu nodded hesitantly, preparing to follow Yeonjun. But just as he was about to leave, Soobin pulled him into a warm hug. Beomgyu was overwhelmed by a rush of emotions. In that moment, he wanted to cry on Soobin's shoulder and reveal the truth to him. He longed to let everything out. Soobin, sensing Beomgyu's unease, rubbed his back and said, "Don't be nervous." Beomgyu's eyes welled up with tears, but he managed to reply, "Okay." Soobin chuckled, releasing Beomgyu from the embrace. He cast Yeonjun a mockingly resentful glance, and in response, Yeonjun just smirked sarcastically.

Yeonjun handed Beomgyu eye masks, knowing they would help conceal their identities at the party where everyone was wearing them anyway. He wore a shiny black mask, while Beomgyu opted for a red one. As they got ready to leave, Yeonjun tilted his head to acknowledge Soobin and Kai, offering some unexpected words, "Good luck with guarding." Soobin smirked and nodded in response.

As they began walking through the top abandoned floor of the palace, Beomgyu couldn't help but be overwhelmed by memories from his childhood. It was here that he had spent the first five years of his life. Every step they took, especially as they ascended the familiar stairs, brought back vivid recollections of his past.Yeonjun, on the other hand, was preoccupied with his phone, probably checking for updates or messages. When they finally reached the second floor, Yeonjun stated confidently, "Everyone is going to attend the party since it's the prince's first public appearance. We can't afford to miss this opportunity."Beomgyu couldn't help but wonder how that was even possible when the prince wasn't even present. However, he understood that fate could be exceptionally cruel at times.

As they descended each flight of stairs and navigated through various corridors, Beomgyu couldn't shake the expectation that everyone would recognize him. He anticipated that people would pause and offer their respect, as they had always done. However, to his surprise, it didn't happen, and he realized it might be due to the eye mask concealing his identity. When they finally arrived at the last floor, the grand ball hall, Beomgyu found it just as he had imagined it – full of shimmering lights, swirling with the aroma of fine wine, and adorned with extravagant decorations. Although he had attended numerous events with palace officials, he had never been to a gathering with the common people before. Amid the glitz and glamour, he felt Yeonjun's hand grip his tightly. Yeonjun's gaze was locked on the top right corner, where the thrones were situated. His grip on Beomgyu's hand grew even more intense. Yet, Yeonjun's face wasn't adorned with a smile; instead, he was focused with an intensity that made Beomgyu uncomfortable.

"I'm so close," Yeonjun almost whispered, his words nearly lost amidst the deafening noise of the grand hall. Perplexed, Beomgyu inquired, "Huh?" Yeonjun clarified, his voice still a hushed undertone amid the boisterous revelry, "I'm so close to my freedom. I've been living in this prison of guilt for years, and finally, I'm so close..."At that moment, Yeonjun turned to face Beomgyu. Their eyes, shining more brightly than the sparkling masks around them, locked onto each other. Yeonjun's hands gently caressed Beomgyu's, a touch that sent shivers down his spine. Despite the raucous celebration filling the room, with people dancing, drinking, and singing, Beomgyu was momentarily lost in the intensity of the moment.Suddenly, another person collided with Beomgyu, causing him to lose his balance and stumble. Yeonjun fell alongside him, and they found themselves tangled up in a moment of chaos amidst the revelry.

Beomgyu's mask slipped from his face, and he instinctively clutched his head, avoiding any potential injury. When he looked up, shock coursed through him. It couldn't be, but it was—Felix, his dear friend. Beomgyu's face froze as he recognized him, his expressions null and numb, as though he had just seen a monster or an alien.Felix took a step closer toward Beomgyu, and Yeonjun swiftly rose to his feet, moving to intervene. But before Yeonjun could reach them, a few words escaped Felix's lips, trembling with uncertainty. "Your royal highness?" Beomgyu knew right then and there that it was all over for him. His secret identity had been uncovered.
