It was around dinner time. Rhiannon and Hermione spent the day going to classes and studying. They sat down at the Gryffindor table and started to eat. She hardly ever sat at the Ravenclaw table, her and Luna just sat with Hermione and the others. "Hey, Hermione I was wondering if you wanted to go to the Three Broom Sticks with me later this evening?" Ron asked Hermione "I would love to, can Rhiannon come with"
"I was just wanting me and you" Ron's voice became quieter "It's fine Hermione, you guys go together"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes"
"Maybe he will ask you out" She whispered to Hermione, nudging her arm "Maybe" Hermione smiled "Yes Ron, I'll go with you"
"Brilliant, sorry Rhiannon" Ron smiled then piled his face full of jello. She didn't understand how that boy could eat so much, especially jello for supper "It's fine" She responded, grossed out from the jello hanging from his lips.
"Hermione, I'll be in the library when you're gone so when you come back from your "date" just find me there okay"
"Alright, hopefully I don't make a fool of myself around Ron"
"Oh Hermione you won't, just be yourself and flirt a little, boys love when a girl takes charge"
"Oh really? I thought Draco hated it" Hermione smirked trying to bug her
"Well he hated it because I'm not for him, it only works when the couple works"
"Ah I see, well wish me luck" Hermione had a huge smile on her face, as she stood up and walked away with Ron. She felt jealous. After they left, she decided to head to the library to study and practice her spells. First she went to her dorm and get into some comfy clothes. She put on a white nightgown and slippers, she get to the library and sat on the floor of the main lobby, it was really late so she had to be careful to not get caught by Filch doing his rounds of the school to make sure students like her weren't causing mischief. She sat there, books scattered around her. She had her wand out practicing for class purposes and personal measures. She brought the rose with her and laid it next to her, trying to find a charm to preserve it forever so it wouldn't die. "Oh hey, you're Rhiannon right" She looked up and saw a tall boy with orange hair "Yes and you are?" She tried to remember his name "Im George, Ron's older brother, the twin of Fred, but I'm the more good looking one" George smirked, his eyes scanned her on the floor. He was handsome but looking into Georges eyes wasn't the same as looking into a pair of Draco's silver eyes. "Oh yeah, sorry I totally forgot, what are you doing out so late?" She asked, looking back down at her book "I could ask you the same thing, looks like you are quite focused there" He laughed, taking a seat on the floor with her, she grabbed the rose to moved it away from him "Yeah, I was practising some magic, so what brings you in the library at night?" She closed the book and give him her attention "I always come here, I have been caught by Filch so many times by hiding out there, its the only place he stopped looking since 5th year. I usually come here for the restricted section, that's where I get all the mischief from " She tilted her head confused "Restricted section? whats that?" She waited for his response "You have never heard of the restricted section? come on, I'll show you" He stood up, helping her up by grabbing her hand. George walked her to the restricted section, showing her all the dark magic books they held there "This is all stuff we aren't aloud to learn, its dark stuff this is" She looked through all the books, books about curses and how to use them, horcruxes, whatever that was, and one book stood out to her, mind control. "What is this" She said, grabbing the mind control book "Ah mind control eh, I was wanting to read that so I could pull pranks on the Professors, make them do funny stuff in the middle of their lessons" George laughed, standing fairly close to her, his long neck lowered down over her shoulder to look at the book "This looks interesting, maybe I should hold onto this, who knows, I might learn something" She had other plans with it. Her and George left that section of the library after they talked about certain magic and they bonded, he seemed like a really good friend and could possibly help her with certain knowledge to take down Voldemort. "Well thank you George, I should get back to practicing, I hope to see you around, and if you find anything magic related come find me to talk about it, I would love that" He smiled at her, putting his hands in his pockets, his cheeks turned red "Of course, I would be careful with that book, don't get caught with it, or don't get to carried away with it, dark magic is scary stuff" He left, she sat back down, opening the new book she grabbed about mind control. The book showed her so many different things on how to control your own mind to not let dark forces penetrate it, to control it. She wanted to try and see if she could get into Voldemort's mind, she didn't think about the risks that would have. She saw a charm called Legilimens, she was ready to try it, what could possibly go wrong she thought. She sat there and closed her eyes, taking a deep breath and focusing on what she wanted to see "Legilimens" She said, entering a trance, she saw his thoughts, his past and how he grew up, he was an orphan. He could speak to snakes and he was always stronger and different then other kids. Like her. Voldemort did terrible things to people who crossed his path, death was all she could see, torture, she could feel the torture his prisoners went through, then she started to see his recent feelings, he seemed terrified of her and her powers, how strong she was, how weak he felt because of her, all the times she beat him without realizing. Something was now messing with her visions, she must have gone too far but she was stuck, she was being shown things she didn't want to see. Draco being made a death eater, she didn't want to see that, something was controlling what she was seeing. Her eyes started to twitch and her head started to throb in pain, voices echoed her ears, they were degrading her, telling her everything was her fault, everything. She was nothing. The pain was so excruciating, she couldn't breathe. The sharp pain throughout her body caused her to seize. She saw Voldemort killing Draco in front of her over and over, tears started to leak from her eyes as she was forced to watch. She tried to fight herself awake but couldn't. It was like he had some sort of control over her body and mind, she knew she made a mistake trying to enter his mind, he figured out what she was doing and decided to enter her mind now, feeding off her fears, Draco being a death eater and even worse, him dying. Her throat started to get tight and she could barely breathe. Then she levitated off the ground, choking and seizing from the control. After a few seconds she hit the floor, coughing and rubbing her throat, still crying and shaking from seeing Draco being killed, in horrible ways, ways no human could describe. She never thought he would be able to see her fears like that. She tried to distract herself while practicing more charms, she did eventually find one to preserve the rose. "Good you're still here" Hermione ran in, looking like she just had the best time of her life, unlike Rhiannon. She put her wand down and Hermione plopped down in front of her "So, how did it go?" Rhiannon asked with a smile
"It was perfect, I was so wrong about us being different, he is perfect Rhiannon, everything was amazing, he even kissed me"
"That's great Hermione, Im happy for you" She was happy for her but she wished she could say the same thing. "I think we are a thing now, I'm not sure"
"Well, did he ask you out?"
"It wasn't straightforward but he acted like we were a thing afterwards so yes I guess so"
"That's awesome" Hermione could tell something was wrong with Rhiannon "What is it?" She asked "Nothing" She lied "Best friends don't lie to one another, so you tell me what is wrong"
"It is a lot of things Hermione, before you came here I found a book in the restricted section about mind control and mind reading, I was stupid and tried it out, it didn't end well. I don't know if that made me vulnerable, but I was being controlled somehow and I saw a visions"
"Are you mad?! we are forbidden to enter that section for a reason, what happened?"
"I know, but I had to try. I tried entering Voldemort's mind and I felt him, he was scared of me and my powers, as I was trying to see more he showed things I didn't want to see of course, but he started to control me and fed off my fears"
"And what is your fear?"
"Draco being killed, over and over, and I couldn't do anything to stop it, it was terrible, but he knew that would hurt me, thats why he showed me that, now I'm just scared it will happen one day if I don't stop him"
"Sounds about right, that is why we don't do this, Voldemort is strong Rhiannon, and he will obviously know when someone is trying to read his mind. Anyway do you think it will happen, your visions?" Hermione looked scared "I don't know, I will make sure you and everyone else are safe though"
"I just hope nothing bad happens, I just kissed Ron and I feel like me and him are made for each other" Rhiannon looked down and sighed "I think I should get some rest, I'll see you tomorrow" She grabbed her stuff and stood up "Rhiannon I didn't mean to brag about Ron"
"No, it's fine, really, don't feel bad, Im happy for you, I truly am, I just wish I could say that about Draco, I don't know why I care about him still, he is a death eater after all" She left the library, holding in tears, she was angry for not letting go, it's been five months, why couldn't she get that through her head that he's gone. She entered her dorm, throwing her books onto the bed and putting the rose into a glass of water since she didn't have anything for it. She opened the window and sat on the windowsill, staring out into the night sky, tears ran down her cheeks, she just wanted a happy ending, being able to wake up happy with herself and her life, but every day it got worse and worse. She started to think of Draco and the way he did so much for her without realizing it, he had saved her more than she saved herself. She knew he was a death eater now and he lied to her but she felt like she shouldn't care about that anymore. He probably didn't care about her anymore because of how much she pushed him away, but she liked to wish he did still care. She could feel Draco as she stared outside, she could feel his presence somehow, she wore his ring on the finger it fit on, his hands were much larger than hers, she twirled it around her finger.

He missed her, he knew she didn't want anything to do with him anymore, but he missed her so fucking much. He would do anything just to see her again, those five months were so hard on him, everyday he thought about her and how she was doing and if she was safe. Every morning he would read the daily prophet to make sure he didn't see her face in it, he would scan the murdered witches and wizards and hoped to never see her in there. He barley left his room most days, barley ate or drank. His mother would leave trays of food outside his door most nights. But he made the right choice returning back home to keep her safe from his father. He would never let him step foot near her again, he did it with Cormac, now he would do it with his father. He would kill his father if he had to. He sat on his bed, staring at his dark mark, sobbing as he touched it, it had been awake for the past few days, constant pain, the night terrors he would have, the pain was a never ending nightmare. He could tell something bad was near, he was terrified he might be forced to do something terrible again if he didn't leave soon. He just wished his father wasn't in the way of him and Rhiannon, he wanted to be with her. He closed his eyes and just pictured her smile, her laugh, her everything, it gave him butterflies and peace. His thoughts of her were the only sanity he had left. She was the only reason he was alive, she was the only thing helping him sleep at night, knowing she was alive in his lifetime, brought him security. Draco walked over to the window and opened it, staring out of the window, he could feel her, wherever she was, he could feel her, like she was standing right in front of him. He looked up at the sky and saw the stars form a heart, it was a sign, it had to be.

*

She looked back up at the sky and stuck her hand out of the window, holding her wand, she formed a heart within the stars with magic, hoping wherever he was, he would see it and take it as a sign that she still wanted him. She got down from the window, wiping her tears. She laid down in her bed, closing her eyes, grasping onto the ring and kissing it. Hermione was so lucky she could be with the boy she loved, she wished it was her.
