Aaliyah walked through the dark woods lit only by the full moon and the stars. She looked down at her hands seeing claws grow from her finger tips. She closed her hands into fists and held them down at her side as she continued walking forward through the dead of night.

Normally she would be home by this time but not tonight. Not on the full moon. If she lost it she risked hurting her brother and she could never let that happened. With her heightened senses she could hear every leaf crunch, every growl, every branch snap. She could smell every animal. every drop of blood drawing her towards it like a siren to a sailer.

She tried her best to ignore the urge to turn and maul the closest moving thing. "Just a few more hours." She told herself. "Just hold on a little bit longer." She heard something move to the right of her and her head snapped in that direction as she came to a quick halt. Nothing. She kept walking wrapping her arms around her cold torso as she took small steps each one getting harder and harder to resist the power of the full moon.

"Hey, kid." She heard a man's voice from in front of her. She looked up to see a man walking towards her. "Are you okay?" He asked taking small steps towards her in an attempt to be non-threatening. He just wanted to help, make sure she was okay. Aaliyah's eyes glowed a bright yellow. "Wow." The man exclaimed taking a step back. "Shouldn't you be home?" Aaliyah didn't answer the question. Instead she let the moon get to her and she let out growl charging forward.

Red. That's all she saw. Just red. Then a blarring sound rung through the air. She woke up with a gasp clutching the blanket in her bed letting out a breath of relief realizing it was just a dream. She turned off her alarm clock and reluctantly got out of bed to go to school. She had to leave earlier than usual because the cheer team had cross country during the off season with the lacrosse team. Which she was not excited about but did anyway for the sake of not arguing with her coach.
