It was almost 3:00 in the morning and Aaliyah was still awake. Every few seconds she would toss or turn in her bed, bury her face further into her pillow, then sit up frustrated that no position was comfortable enough. No amount of silence could calm her, no amount of noise could distract her. She had so many questions floating around her mind she'd prefer not to think about. Like, how long does she have? Will it hurt? Will that even matter? Should she get back together with Allison? What about Stiles, they're together now, right? Or was she misreading that. That doesn't matter now, does it? What happens afterwards? For her, for everyone else. What would her dad think? Will she even see him again? Should she call? What should her memorial be? Does she even want one? What if they forget about her? What can she do between now and then (whenever that is) to make sure she won't be forgotten? Does it even matter in the grand scheme of things? In a hundred years they'll all be dead.
Her phone rang forcing her up again, she answered the call, it was from Stiles. "Hey, what's up?" He didn't answer but she could hear him breathing. "Stiles?... Stiles? You there?"
"Aaliyah?" He answered in a scared whisper.
"Yeah, I'm here." Aaliyah kicked her feet over the side of her bed. She wondered if anyone had told Stiles yet. "Are you okay? Can you hear me?"
"I don't... I don't know where I am. I don't know how I got here. I think I was sleepwalking." His trembling voice made Aaliyah's chest tighten.
"Okay, um, can you see anything? Just tell me what you see." Aaliyah asked hoping there could be some kind of indicator to where he is.
