The next morning Aaliyah woke up with a killer head ache. She chugged the water next to her bed and got up ignoring the pounding in her head, no doubt just left over from the wolfsbane attack from the night before. She slowly got cleaned and dressed for the day before heading to the kitchen. Liam was there making himself a bowl of cereal, he seemed to be suffering the same headache as Aaliyah.

Aaliyah grabbed a granola bar and sits next to her brother and began to eat. Liam tries to ignore her but Aaliyah can smell his annoyance in his chemo signals. And see it on his face. Liam grumbled as he sat down with his bowl and started eating. Aaliyah finished her breakfast, threw out the wrapper, then sat back down to scroll through her phone.

Liam rolled his eyes, his spoon clangs loudly against his bowl as he scoops his next bite. Aaliyah eyes him warily. He notices but ignores her. Their dad walks into the room, his hair is a disheveled and he's still wearing sleep clothes. He yawns loudly and walks over to the coffee maker, he walks with a bit of a limp, an old hunting injury Aaliyah thinks. He makes himself some coffee then turned around to face his kids.

"Good morning."

"Morning." Aaliyah and Liam mumbled at about the same time.

Nic raised his eyebrows, noticing something was off. "You two okay?"

"Yeah," Aaliyah said as Liam mumbled, "Uh huh."

Nic nodded unconvinced. "Your mom told me you know now. Liam?"

Liam stared at his half finished blown of lucky charms and swirled the spoon around. "Yeah, she told me."

Nic nodded again pouring the coffee into his mug. "You don't have to do anything you don't want to. But I would be happy to show you some stuff. I'm sure Aaliyah wouldn't mind another training partner." As he passed his son he squeezed his shoulder. "Let me know if you want to talk about it. You're always welcome here." Liam smiled and nodded. Nic turned to leave. "And be careful, I heard there's a whole lot more hunters coming to town. A lot of them are inexperienced and will probably get themselves hurt. So just stay away from anything to do with those lists."
