"Stop doubting yourself, you're really good. That was really good!" Aaliyah encouraged. She was helping Liam practice his lacrosse skills so he could tryout next season. He was doing well at blocking the ball until she hit him in the face, and he wasn't wearing a helmet.

"Until you broke my nose!" Liam shouted holding his bloody nose. "I suck at this."

"No you don't." Aaliyah walked over to him, she held his chin and moved his face around to see how bad it was. "I don't think it's broken."

"It's bleeding." He complained.

"Come on. We'll clean it up." Aaliyah grabbed her brother's wrist and dragged him inside, although he was mad at her Liam let her help. They stepped through the screen door into the kitchen, Liam used a tissue to clean the blood off of his face while Aaliyah found an ice pack. They entered the living room to get to the bathroom only to find a man sitting on the couch.

Aaliyah recognized him as their uncle Tommy. Their dad's brother, he came around sometimes to help with a job. "There's my favorite niece and nephew!" He still spoke with more of an accent than his brother. He got up and hugged Aaliyah and Liam both placing kisses on each of their heads. Liam always liked when he came around, Aaliyah liked it too but it came with a sort of dread. About what nefarious creatures have showed up now, although this time she was almost certain she knew already.

"Hola tío." Aaliyah smiled. "I'll come back I have to fix Liam's nose."

"What happened?"
