Jungkook flew ahead of us, with Jin and me following closely behind. He seemed more than just excited; he was eager to test his newfound powers, which had greatly increased. You couldn't tell that he had just undergone a draining transformation. And even though he now looked different from the innocent fairy I had rescued, the energy he radiated was still the same. We were heading in the opposite direction of the path I had taken to the Fairy Forest because the Dragon Mountains were in the northwest, while Jungkook's homeland was in the southeast. At the foot of the Dragon Mountains, on the backside of the mountain range, lay Wolf Land. The Lycans were actually close friends of the Dragon Queen, but she was old and it wasn't expected that she would lay any more eggs after this clutch. However, from the color and size of the eggs, it was clear that the next Dragon King was on its way. I could imagine that the Lycan Alpha felt threatened because since the vampires were gone, dragons had become their strongest threat. Dragons may be powerful, but they were gentle giants who saw only good in everyone and didn't like to fight. But when they had to, they left nothing but ashes behind. They hadn't intervened in the attack on the vampires; they had simply flown away... luckily, or no vampire would have survived. Maybe that's why I felt least vengeful towards them.

The further we rode, the more barren the landscape became, almost like the illusion on the other side of the forest border, but here it was reality. The ground was covered with ash and cooled lava, and trees became sparser. Rocks lay scattered around, and there was no proper path up, so we couldn't continue with our horses.

"Let's leave the horses here in Hidden Forest; we'll have to continue on foot anyway," I said as I dismounted. Jin did the same, and we tied the horses to a tree near the border. In the distance, I heard wolf howls, knowing that they always patrolled around the mountains, even though this wasn't their territory.

"We should hurry; one is not far away," Jungkook remarked, using his enhanced hearing for the first time.

"I'm not sure if it wouldn't be better for us to wait behind the barrier until it passes," I suggested, but Jungkook shook his head.

"No, we don't have time anymore," he insisted.

"Kookie, you fly up with her. I'll fight the wolf and then catch up," Jin demanded, and Jungkook didn't hesitate as he took me in his arms and soared into the air. I was briefly startled as my feet dangled in the air, but he held me so securely that I had no worries about falling. He ascended higher and stayed within our territory until he almost reached the summit before flying through the magical protective barrier.

Down below, we could hear the sounds of a fight. I was confident that Jin would win this battle. In a one-on-one fight, vampire against Lycan, the vampire always came out on top, especially if armed. I had to push my worries about him aside so that I could focus on the dragon. Jungkook flew to the summit where the Dragon Queen's nest was located. No one was nearby, only three eggs lay there... completely unguarded because they thought they had no enemies.

"Which egg is it?" I asked, but Jungkook just shrugged apologetically.

"I didn't see what color his egg had; I saw him in his human form," he explained, and I sighed. One egg was dark blue, almost purple; one was blood red, and the other glowed green but was smaller than the first two.

"The red and blue ones are male dragons; for safety's sake, we need to take both of them with us. Fly the two eggs down to the horses," I commanded him, and he nodded.

"I can only bring them down one at a time," he informed me and carefully took the red egg in his arms before flying away.

Curiously, I placed my hand on top of the green egg and stroked it gently.

"I'm sorry, little dragon girl. I'm taking your brothers away and burdening you with the responsibility of leading your people... don't trust the Lycans... they don't mean well for you... but I promise to take care of your brothers and send one back to you." I whispered through the shell, feeling it vibrate from within.

Then I turned to the blue egg, about to run my palm over its shell when I saw a large wolf head emerge from behind the rocks.
