"Your Highness, you can't go around randomly marking vampires... Is that going away again?" Jackson asked, rubbing his skin.
"That wasn't indiscriminate at all... I want to be your mate." I explained and his eyes grew wide.
"A dragon and a vampire? How is that supposed to work?" Jackson looked at me skeptically, but I put an arm around his shoulder and walked with him towards the chambers.
"Easy, you turn me now," I suggested, but he just pushed my arm away and stood still.
"The covenant is not something to be taken lightly..." he began to explain to me.
"Imagine this, while you command the army, you fly above them on a mighty dragon and make your enemies tremble in fear." I made the alliance with me palatable to him and his expression changed abruptly. He liked the idea, I could see that immediately.
"So, what I actually wanted to say... that way is my room..."

Namjoon had fallen asleep cuddling with Jungkook at some point, wanting to gather strength to complete the transformation as soon as possible. So far my companions had surprised me, not one of them had protested against their fate, they all just took it for granted. No one held a grudge against me, not even Seokjin, and I had transformed him without his consent. Now he stepped behind me, onto the balcony, hugged me and gave me the gift of his body heat in the cool air.
"They're both so cute... a fairy and a dragon, lying in our bed, clutching each other like koala bears. Shouldn't we lie down with them, my lady? You'll freeze if you stand here any longer, staring at the moon and brooding... if anyone sees you, they'll think you're a Lycan who's about to howl at the moon," he said with a grin.
"The Lycans... what's their plan? Do they still have allies, or are they trying to incapacitate all the races one by one without anyone noticing? Does the Alpha really want to seize power? I don't understand his motives, is this really just about power, for which he has sacrificed millennia of peace?" I asked, simply ignoring his jokes.
"The Alpha is very cunning, he whispers words to you that you believe yourself and then spread and then he blames you... no one believes you anymore and not only have you been completely played, but you're the supposed bad guy..." Jin explained sadly and I stopped... That sadness and resignation in his voice.
"Jin... did you really come from the human world to destroy us vampires?" I asked him straightforwardly for the first time in 57 years.
"No... they kidnapped me, tricked me, killed my family and blamed it on vampires... the Alpha stirred up hatred in me and used me to convince the other races... then he just left me in the vampire castle after the attack so the other races would think I'd been killed and so I was out of commission as a witness to his actions. I had recognized a Lycan during the attack who had killed my family disguised as a vampire and confronted the Alpha, but... well, the rest is history. I'm so sorry, Y/Nie... I tried to stop it when I realized the truth, I warned your father... but it was already too late... " he sighed, you could tell this was still getting to him.
"I believe you." was all I said, and he hugged me tightly. I had been sure for a long time that there was more to it than that, now I knew.
"Why didn't you tell me a long time ago?" I probably hadn't given the impression that I was listening....
I "I didn't believe that you trusted me enough to really listen."
