My gaze followed her finger and sure enough, with my keener vampire vision, I saw that four dragons and a fairy had appeared in the sky and were getting closer and closer. Excitedly, I searched the dragons back and saw my brother leaning against a tall Lycan who seemed to be scanning the castle courtyard with his eyes.
With one leap I jumped from the tower straight into the courtyard, hearing the witch laughing behind me because I had just left her standing there. I felt guilty for a moment, but when the dragons landed crunching with their claws on the uneven cobblestones, throwing up little stones, all thoughts disappeared, the only thing I was interested in was my brother, who had just let himself slide to the ground on the dragon scales and came to a halt right in front of me. He looked at me with wide eyes and with tears in my eyes I hugged him to me, it really was him...
"Jongho..." my voice came out pressed through the fabric of his cloak as I pressed my face against his shoulder, not liking anyone seeing my tears.
"He said you were dead...Everyone, my whole family... I thought I was all alone...", I heard him say, sniffling. The young Lycan who had come with him gently placed a hand on his other shoulder and gave it a quick squeeze of encouragement. Taking a deep breath, I calmed down a little and looked up. Jackson, who had just greeted Mingi and Seonghwa, now came over to us and pulled my little brother into a tight hug too.
"Little one... You still have a family... Maybe not the same as before, but there are so many brothers-in-law now... And nephews... You're not alone. But sometimes you'll wish you were," Jackson explained with amusement, pointing to my companions and our descendants, who had all gathered here.
Smiling, I also looked in the direction he was pointing and then furrowed my eyebrows. Hoseok was standing all alone, a little apart, looking at his mother, who hadn't seen him yet, lying in her own mother's arms and crying uncontrollably. I walked purposefully towards him and took his hand.
"What's paralyzing you, my love?" I asked him as I dragged him along to Queen Amelia.
"I don't know... I just felt so lost... I'm seeing her for the first time today... What... What if she doesn't like me? I'm not a good witch, I can't do magic properly yet... What if she's disappointed in me?" he asked, the fear of rejection clear in his gaze.
"Oh no... You're her child, she'll love you no matter what," I assured him and he smiled gratefully. The closer we got to her, the tighter he squeezed my hand and two steps away from her he stopped again. I didn't know whether she had sensed him or whether she just happened to be looking in his direction at that moment, but she started beaming all over her face.
"Hoseok... finally. I've been waiting for you all your life." When they finally hugged, I shed a tear or two, but all the touching reunions were getting a little too much for me, because each of my companions was moved and I could feel it through our bond. To distract myself, I bit my lips until I tasted blood, then turned my head in surprise as cool hands placed themselves on my temples.
"Relax, I'll help you," I heard Jimin's melodic voice. Surprisingly quickly, a calmness settled over me, enveloping me like a bubble in the water, shielding me and the fog that had obscured my thoughts dissipated.
"How do you do that?" I asked, impressed
"Nymph magic is like spring, based on water and desire... Water heals and protects at the same time. If everything gets too much for you again, come to me... And... I can also expand this bubble to include both of us... And show you what else I can do with it," he promised with a grin.
"You can show us both now, I'm damn hungry after this flight... So, how does it work with your bubble? Can I make it glitter with fairy dust?" Jungkook simply took our hands and pulled us towards our rooms, not even waiting for our answer. I briefly wanted to protest, as I wanted to keep my brother company a little longer, but I saw how he was involved in a lively conversation with his companion, San, Wooyoung and Yeosang and didn't want to disturb him... Tomorrow was another day and the thought of Jimin and Jungkook's blood made me hungrier and hungrier...
