"We should go back, you need to make the bond so you can become stronger," Yeosang said and I nodded in agreement. It was our best chance to save my mother. We were going to fight the Alpha anyway, so I didn't think the others would refuse my request... well, except for Jungkook maybe, he was pretty angry with me. I didn't want the others to worry about Y/N and me, I'd just been so caught up in Jimin's nymph spell that I'd shut those thoughts out completely. The relief I felt when my grandmother confirmed that I belonged with the others, that not only could I trust them, but that I desperately needed to connect with them, was huge. The urge inside me to give myself to them, to let them drink my blood, this feeling that I could already sense through Jimin, was overpowering and had cost me all the self-control I had. Now it was used up and as much as I wanted to get to know more of my family, I couldn't wait to get back to the hidden forest.
"I'll go get my companions, then we'll fly back," Yeosang explained and stood up. Seonghwa also stood up and bowed to the royal grandmothers, very respectful and charming, quite the prince that he was, which made them rave about him. All the older ladies here, including Hongjoong's mother, smiled benevolently at him.
"Is he related to you too?" Grandmother Celia asked and I nodded.
"He's my nephew," I explained.
"Four mighty dragons in your ranks... this one is particularly strong... but also so sweetly shy. Dragons really are the nicest of the peoples." Grandmother Mira said.
"But our great-grandson... your son... he's different... I've never seen anything like it... if you reunite the peoples... he is our future... His line will ensure peace forever. But you must make that possible for him." Celia prophesied.
"I still find it so strange that he should be my son when I wasn't even involved in his conception," I said and heard them both laugh.
"A Lycan was involved who wasn't even born himself... That was a procreation from a still incomplete union, but your souls have been bound to each other since time immemorial. Dragon children can be born from more than two parents and all souls are always involved, because they are born from soul essences. That is why they have the knowledge of their ancestors, they are literally made up of pieces of their ancestors' souls. You can believe that he is your child," Mira explained to me and it now made more sense to me.
We said goodbye and I promised that I would come back with my mother after she was rescued so that we could all get to know each other better. Hongjoong's mother cuddled her son, as well as her new son-in-law, until we heard the flapping of Yeosang's mighty wings as he landed back in the yard. Wooyoung on his back, holding the unconscious Lycan securely in his arms.
In the blink of an eye, Seonghwa transformed, allowing Hongjoong and I to soar. With a final wave, I smiled at the witches who stayed behind and we took to the air.
"That was a lot to take in, but I'm happy for you that your problem will soon be solved." Hongjoong said and Seonghwa giggled.
"I'll make sure your problem is solved too... it was funny to see all the castle inventory running around the kitchen, but being able to use your powers normally again will certainly be a relief for you," he said and I saw Hongjoong's cheeks turn red.
"I can't wait." he mumbled sheepishly, which now made me giggle. The two of them were so cute together. At dawn, we reached the castle that was now my home and I thanked the others tiredly before retiring to my room. Before I discussed the situation with my companions, I finally had to sleep for a few hours...
