Mingi PoV
"Wait for me." I called after the handsome vampire who was just walking out the door, a little annoyed that he had to babysit, but I didn't mind. When he had come into the room earlier, I had had to gasp, vampires looked so incredibly good, how could you keep up? Well, I was a dragon prince, but still... I wasn't as elegant and wise as Hyung, I was more like the clumsy little brother who was only good at fighting and protecting. But I wasn't jealous of my brother, I loved and admired him so much that I would die for him. It must have seemed strange to outsiders, we only knew each other for a few hours after hatching, but dragon eggs took decades to hatch and we were telepathically connected the whole time. That's why I knew our sister Siyeon was safe and would explain to our parents what had happened and where her sons had gone. She would take over our people until the time of the Covenant's reign had come....
"Listen, I don't care who you are or why they've put you on me, but I don't really have time to show some random people around the castle... so why don't you go and find one of the servants and ask them?" Jackson said with blatant disinterest. Oh, so the vampire thought he was better than me? Who did he think I was? A human? Just because I had cuddled with Jin and he used to be human? I let the fire blaze in my pupils as smoke came out of my nose before I took a quick look around, by now I had chased after him to the great hall where it was safe to show him my true form. A quick hiss and I stood before him as a mighty, full grown, shiny red dragon, which made him gulp as he now looked at me.
"As long as you are not my companion, that means Your Highness, Prince Mingi of Dragon Rock, to you, do we understand each other?" I rumbled in my dragon voice and he went down on one knee in front of me. Even vampires, as strong as they might be, did not want to anger a dragon of royal blood. We were far stronger than normal dragons and they could roast anyone with ease like a suckling pig over a campfire. However, we were also peaceful and harmony-loving to a fault, but many people didn't know that, which is why I secretly giggled to myself at the shocked look on his face.
"I'm sorry, Your Highness..." he said and I just grumbled to him, whereupon he stood up again.
"Well, now that that's settled, jump up, we'll make a deal.... I'll show you the castle from above and you show me the inside afterwards." I said and saw his eyes gleam.
"You want to fly with me, Your Highness?" he asked, and I was already annoyed that he was addressing me so formally, but I couldn't say anything about it because I had asked for it.
"You have a choice, come on my back or I'll take you in my claws..." I replied impatiently as he climbed up and held on to my neck. I pushed open the high gate and ran to the inner courtyard of the castle, where I spread my wings and took to the air. We did a few quick laps over the castle and the forest around it, Jackson whooping with delight. There wasn't much left of the cold busy vampire from earlier, he laughed and screamed when I did a roll and he fell, but I caught him carefully. We did many daring maneuvers in the air before we landed again and now his face was so different from before. He had red cheeks and tousled hair, his eyes shone and a smile played around his lips.
"That was fun!" He exclaimed as I changed back and grinned cheekily at him. He noticed that I was naked, as clothes unfortunately didn't transform with me, and quickly took off the black cloak he had been wearing. For the first time, he seemed to look at me properly and as the garment wrapped around my shoulders, my eyes never once left his astonished gaze. I quickly took his hand and rubbed it over the corner of my mouth, whereupon his look became more and more confused.
"What did you..." he began, but I interrupted him with a smile.
"I marked you, you belong to me now."
