"Yeah, no. I'm not sharing." Riley chuckled, sliding her cup away from the hand that was reaching out to it.
"Come on!" Adam complained, "One of these days you're going to have to let have a sip." He threw his arms up in the air, acting defensive over it.
"Not happening Adam," She shook her head, laughing at him.
She had barely gotten to sit down at her desk before he was trying to steal her drink from her. Riley had always been overprotective of her overpriced drinks, but these days it had gotten even worse - Jay noticed. She was even hungrier and thirstier than usual - so sharing definitely wasn't an option. He found it strange but he decided not to speak on it - maybe it was stress or her period. After all, what does he know?
"Jay!" Adam exclaimed, hoping he'd back him up.
Jay furrowed his eyebrows, shaking his head. "I'm not getting involved." He laughed, standing up from his seat and walking off towards the break room to pour himself a coffee.
Riley stuck her tongue out in Adam's direction, making him playfully roll his eyes as he jokingly tried to reach out and grab her coffee. She slapped his hand away, the two bickering with one another as Hailey rushed in the precinct.
"We caught a scene! Voight's already there." She called, turning back around to head out. They all grabbed their coats, the coffee argument being suddenly forgotten as they rushed out after Hailey.
Jay ran past the passenger side of his pick up truck, pulling the door open for Riley before stepping in through the driver's side. She shut the door after herself, making sure they had everything they needed in the truck. "All right." Riley spoke, looking up the address of the scene which had been previously sent by Hailey.
"You want a sip?" Riley suggested, noticing the dark circles underneath her fiancé's eyes and knowing the lack of caffeine running through his veins.
His eyes lightly widened, "Am I the chosen one?" Riley rolled her eyes at his comment, pushing the coffee in his hand before crossing her arms over her chest. Jay chuckled at her reaction, "Thanks, babe."
Her lips curved up even though she was very clearly trying to hold back her smile. She couldn't help but recall exactly why he was so tired and to say she wasn't proud of it would be a lie.
Pushing the thoughts aside, the couple stepped out of the truck once Jay parked it close to the yellow tapes. They walked up to their team, Adam instantly taking notice of the coffee in Jay's hand. Right as he was about to say something about it, Riley cut him off.
"What do we got?" She asked, looking around as she waited for Voight to explain.
"The scene happened earlier this morning and at first it looked like a simple accident." Voight began, pointing behind him. "Gray pick up ran over the pedestrian, but the thing is - he was already in the street when he ran him over. Patrol was trying to figure out exactly what happened and called us when they found out the red van belonged to the young man. He was here on a night out apparently but never came back to his friend's apartment."
