"911, what's your emergency?" Riley answered what was probably the tenth call of her shift at the 911 call center.
"Hi, yes, um... I was in a car accident. Everyone's okay, but the car's blocking traffic."
"911, what's your emergency?" She paused, letting the woman on the line talk before answering again. "Okay, ma'am. We're still gonna get the fire department out to check on that alarm, all right? So just sit tight."
"911, what's your emergency?" All Riley could hear on the other side of that call was heavy breathing. With furrowed eyebrows, she repeated. "Hello? 911, can you hear me?" The person's breathing picked up, "911, what's your emergency?"
"Help me."
"Okay, ma'am, where are you? Can you tell me what's going on?"
"Please help."
"Yes, I'm here to help you. Can you tell me what's happening?" Riley insisted, hoping she'd be able to give out more information. The only sound she could hear was her heavy breathing.
"Ma'am, is someone there with you? Are you unable to speak?" She questioned, guessing that was the case if the woman wasn't telling her anything. "Okay, it's okay, I'm gonna track your address right now and send you some help, all right? Don't talk if you're not able to. I am here with you, I'm not going anywhere." She typed on her computer, trying triangulate her cell phone. "I've got officers coming your way. Just hang on, help is coming. I'm here with you." She heard rustling on the other side of the line before the woman gasped loudly, the line cutting.
"Hello? Hello?" She tried reconnecting the call, "No, no, no, no, no. Come on, come on, come on." As she checked her first monitor, she saw a green bubble popping saying that the officers were on scene. She sighed in relief, hearing the phone ring again.
She took a few seconds before picking up. "911, what's your emergency Okay, ma'am, what's your location?"

Riley put on her coat after hanging her headset as soon as her shift was over. She glanced at her screen, taking a deep breath before typing a few words in the computer. "19-Paul, no police service." She mumbled, confused. Riley grabbed her coat and decided to rush to the 21st District, knowing that's where the officers were from.
"Back already? All your old buddies are gone. No action to siphon." Sergeant Platt teased her as soon as she walked up to her desk.
"Okay." Riley playfully rolled her eyes, "I'm actually here to see two of your officers. Um, O'Malley and Jeffries." Trudy walked to the backroom, knocking on the window to catch someone's attention. Two men walked up to the front, glancing at Riley.
"Jeffries, O'Malley, this is Detective Mitchell."
"Hey." She greeted them, smiling.
"With Intelligence?" One of them questioned, O'Malley, putting away his radio.
