"So," Jay spoke up from the driver's seat of the car, his hand wrapped around her small one. "Are you nervous?"

Riley softly smiled at him, "About not being able to be out on the field starting today?" She let out a joking scoff, "No, of course not!"

Jay slightly pouted, "I'm sorry. I wish it didn't have to be like this."

She waved him off, "It's fine, it's to keep our baby safe. It's totally worth it." Riley offered him a sincere smile, "How are you feeling about being back after a week?"

Jay had to take a week off as ordered by Voight after the last case and he decided to fully use it. He went to see a professional and got his head on straight. He also got to go with Riley to the 12 week appointment with no interruptions. Before then, Riley was always a little reluctant to speak about the baby but now she truly felt like it was real. The appointment was exactly what she needed and honestly, Jay needed it too. So the couple decided that for the thirteenth week they would tell Voight and see where they were going to go from there.

"Feeling really good about it. I think today's going to be great." He told her, sure of himself.

"I bet it'll be a good one after Voight sends me home." She pouted, turning her head to look at him, "Do you think he'll send me home right away?"

Jay shrugged as he parked the car in the parking lot behind the district. "I'm not sure, I haven't been pregnant too often."

She playfully scoffed and stepped out of the car, Riley walked to his side and bumped his hip with hers. "With that pretty face? I don't buy it."

The couple walked to the front of the building, joking back and forth until they were stopped at the front desk by Sergeant Platt. "Hey, Detectives Chuckles." Riley and Jay looked at each other before stepping up to her desk, wondering what she needed from them. Platt was looking between them with wide eyes.

"Morning, Sarge." Jay spoke first, uncertainty clear in his voice. "Everything okay?"

"You tell me." Trudy spoke with a light smirk on her face as she leaned forward on her desk. She eyed Riley, lingering a little on her stomach. Riley brought her hand to her slightly more swollen belly subconsciously. "Is there a little Chuckles on the way?"

Both detectives' eyes widened in surprise. Platt rolled her eyes as she stood back up, crossing her arms in front of herself. "Oh, what? Just because I'm not a detective doesn't mean I don't notice things."

"How could you possibly tell?" Riley spoke in a hushed tone, leaning forward on the desk. "I'm barely showing."

"A woman knows, Riley. A woman knows." Platt simply said before walking off. Riley turned to Jay, wide eyed. Jay was just as surprised, but he was smiling from ears to ears and looked very amused about the situation. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders and guided her up the stairs.
