"What about this shade?" Riley wiggled a paint sample in Jay's face, watching as he rubbed his eyes.

She was sitting criss-crossed on the bed as he lied under the covers, still waking up. His arms were over the blanket, one of his hands resting on her thigh as he observed her. Jay knew she'd woken up much earlier than he had, but he honestly hadn't heard her walking out of the apartment. Let alone go to the nearest hardware store to get paint samples for the baby room.

"Ri, to be honest, they all look the same to me." She gasped at his response, retracting the sample from his face.

"They do not even remotely look the same, Jay Halstead!" Riley exclaimed, gaining a chuckle from Jay.

He squeezed her knee, leaning up slightly in the bed. The movement made the covers slide down to his hips, exposing his toned stomach to her. Riley's eyes went from his eyes to his chest, glancing down as a slight curve appeared on her lips.

"All right, show me again." Jay gestured for her to hand him the samples, she did so happily clasping her hands together as she waited for him to let her know his favorite color. He carefully observed the different colors, his eyes scanning over each of them. "This one."

She leaned forward, looking over the samples to see which one he was pointing to. She gasped as she saw it, clapping her hands happily. "That's the one I wanted!"

Jay chuckled, grabbing her hips to pull her body over his - careful of her stomach. "If you already knew the one you wanted, why'd you ask?" He asked, pressing kisses all over her face - the magical sound of her giggles resonating in his ear.

"I wanted your input." She shrugged, putting her hands flat on his chest. "And I'm glad I did because your input was perfect." Riley put an emphasis on the perfect part, smiling from ears to ears a ther fiancé.

"Glad to be of service, baby." Jay lowly spoke, pulling her in for a kiss as one of his hands rested on her hips while the other held the back of her head.

She hummed into the kiss, "Are you sure you have to get to work today?" Riley asked once they were slightly pulled back from each other.

"Yeah I gotta go." He answered, his hand running up and down her back lightly massaging her. She leaned her head on his chest, half tempted to go back to sleep and using him as a pillow.

"This feels good." She mumbled against his skin, pressing kisses on his chest. "I love you."

"I love you too, Riley." Jay whispered in her ear, hearing her breathing slowing down as she drifted back to sleep in his arms. A light smile made its way to his lips, his grip tightening around his fiancée's body to hold her securely against him.

Some time later, Jay really had to get up and get ready for work. He carefully stood up and drapped the covers over her body, covering her completely. He kissed the top of her head before heading to the bathroom, reluctantly getting ready for his day at work.
