Riley walked around the apartment, busying herself with any task she could possibly think of. She and Jay didn't have the opportunity to talk when she came home the previous night as he and Aurora were fast asleep, so she decided to leave them be. On the other hand, Riley wasn't sure if she even got a second of sleep - which explained why she was cleaning her apartment at five o'clock in the morning when she still had at least a good two hours of sleep.

All she wanted was to talk it out with Jay and know that they were okay - then she would sleep.

As she was scrubbing down the sink, Jay walked up to her with his eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he ran his hand through his hair. "What the hell are you doing?" He asked her.

She sighed, leaning her hands on the counter in front of her as she put her head down. "Trying not to wake you up, which I am apparently not very good at."

He chuckled, the sound surprising her as she assumed he was angry with her. Riley must have made a face because Jay's expression turned from amused to confused quickly. "What's up?"

She sighed, her lips pulled into a thin smile. He knew her too well. "I thought you were mad at me."

He frowned, multiple creases appearing on his forehead. She could tell by the look in his eyes that he was trying to figure out what she meant and that's how she knew she'd been wrong all along.

"Why would I be mad at you?" He questioned, stepping forward to wrap his arms around her. She gladly let him, her whole body relaxing against him. His heart fell, hating that he'd made her feel that way.

"Because of the whole Voight and Hailey thing." She mumbled against his chest, leaning her ear against it to listen to the sound of his heartbeat.

"Is there something I should be mad about?" He asked, his way of letting her know he was listening if she wanted to share with him what happened.

With her arms still tightly wrapped around his torso, she let out a soft sigh. "Voight's been in my face about my loyalty, saying that it'd catch up to me eventually. Then he kind of subtly threatened to separate us when I went back to talk to him last night."

Jay took a deep breath, exhaling heavily. "We're all loyal and that's what he wants us to be. There's definitely something else he's not telling you." He told her honestly.

"I feel that way too, but I don't what it is." She shrugged lightly, "Anyway, I'm sorry for putting in that position, Jay. I know that you wouldn't have moved in if I hadn't gone in myself."

He patted her hair down lovingly, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. Jay then sighed and lightly pulled back, cupping her cheeks in his hands. "You know what? I'm not sure that's true." His thumbs rubbed the skin softly, "I think I would've gone in too. Which is why we have to stop doing that blind loyalty thing we're doing. We have Aurora to think of now, we gotta come home." She sighed, her eyes tearing up at the mention o their daughter, "We come home, okay baby?"
