I rolled my eyes.
Sebastian didn't want to leave so quickly, insisting that he wanted to see my room, and listen to all of my tales.
He ran up the stairs like a little child, chuckling and ushering me to hurry up because he couldn't wait to see my room. I opened the room that I believed would remain musty and dusty. But the window was open, the dust no longer present.
My papers lay scattered all over the desk, my bed was tidied up, which made me confused. I haven't been in this room for months, who could've cleaned this room up? I knew that my family wouldn't have done so.
Sebastian's eyes roamed around my room curiously, opening my wardrobe, he furrows his eyebrows. "You didn't take your clothes when you left?"
I shook my head, "No, mostly because I didn't have clothes suitable for a twenty seven year old. My parents used to forget about me very easily, only one person was there to change that." My heart ached as I spoke about him.
The last time I saw him was.. Ten years ago, when I was nothing but a Seventeen year old boy. He taught me most I know today, helped me go through things I didn't understand, and gave me the Love I craved. Sometimes I forget that, I had someone in my life. Someone who cared for me.
But bitter feelings replaced the Love I had left in me when he stopped visiting me. How could I have forgotten? I wasn't used to affection, what nonsense..
I wasn't used to a lot of Affection, but he made sure to give some. That only left me to crave for more, and I believed he left me. Without any reason, that was why those bitter feelings submerged. Why I believe no one had given me Affection, but there was someone in my past who made sure I fell asleep, with heartwarming dreams.
I zoned out. Sebastian had already moved to the window. He stared at something or.. Someone, with confusion. "..Joseph?" He called out, unsure. "Who is that?"
At first, I walked slowly, confident that it couldn't have been him.
Soon, my steps became faster and faster, until I practically shoved myself towards Sebastian, who caught me with his arms around my waist. It couldn't be..
Sir Bannarasee?
I exhaled as tears ran down my face. I sniffled, "..Dad.." Sebastian looked down at me, confusion swirled in his eyes. "..Dad? You have another Father?- Hey!"
I ran out of the room, ignoring the stares my cousins gave me as they conversed with my Mother. Rushing down the stairs leading to the Main hall, and to the front door, I fell on my knees. Sebastian lifted me up, he didn't ask any questions as he rushed after me. With a swift turn, I burst the back doors open.
A garden, the same Garden I looked out at, watching Josephine and José play with enviousness. And there he was, I let out a short scream, my hands trembled as did my legs. There he was.
There he was.
Sir Bannarasee turned around, alarmed by the scream. Seconds passed and realization hit him. Bis eyes widened, and he dropped his water can. "..Jo-" I was already sprinting towards him with my arms stretched out.
My arms slithered themselves around his waist, my head pressed against my chest and the tears ran down my face freely. I couldn't care less if I had caused a scene, if everyone was curiously looking at us. I was just happy that I met the person that was always there for me. That taught me, that made me stronger, that loved and cared for me as his own child.
My knees hit the floor, but Sir Bannarasee continued to embrace me. "I'm here, I'm back, see?"
I finished crying, but anger swelled up in me. I pushed him back, regretting it as he was now an older man. But at least I did it lightly!
"You left me.. Disappeared without a trace! Where were you? I needed you, sir!" I wiped my tears furiously. He stood up, he held his hand in front of me, prompting me to accept his help.
And I did, I didn't like being on the floor. His eyebrows were knitted, wrinkles formed in his forehead, his white curls did not sway as the wind picked up dramatically. His eyes were round and brown, looking at me gives me a sense of hope. And I want to forgive him.
"I truly did not want to leave, but your Mother made me. When she found out that I was being more than a Servant to you, she fired me and kicked me out." He explained regrettably. Why? When it wasn't his fault.
"..I was getting you new clothes, and new books you could read in your free time. The clothes you wore were no longer fitting you, and hearing that you've read those books more than five times," He sighed, looking at the floor. "I knew I had to do something about it."
A tear rushed down his face, his lips perked up into a sad smile, he caressed my cheek with his hand, "You know.. I see you as my son, I never had the chance to have one. So, I wanted to make a change, treat you better, and teach you."
"And I love you, I really do. I'm sorry I came back so late.. But I'm glad we were brought back together." He hugged me very tightly, patting my head. And I cried.
Another person loved me. And I knew I was deserving of it. I knew I was worthy of it..
"You have suffered a lot my child, please, forgive me, and let me be the Father you need." He said.
I didn't have to say anything. I returned the hug, relishing in the sweet moment.
For I knew it could've been the last.
