Chapter 2 : I need to accept my reality

Eight months go by and I'm still dealing with the pain but I have to forget this pain i can't deal with the pain cause sometimes it feels like it feels like I'm drowning and can't get away from that drowning I'm struggling to breathe it hurts.

Layla tried to cheer me up by letting me meet some of her friends she met from camp it took my mind off a few things, but when I go to bed and sleep, the reality comes back.

It's my mother's birthday today she is throwing a huge party she even invited the whole Walker family. I then go downstairs, just eat my breakfast. i then see my lovely housekeeper Martha she must have seen the pain I went through because she always tells me that everything will be okay.

I go hug Martha and joke with her, "Martha how come you have more energy than me and you look so good for your age you can cook well too plus you manage the house well how I believe every household needs a Martha."

Martha laughs at me," Oh my child, you're one of a kind. You are the only reason why I enjoy my work life, but never mind that I made your favorite chocolate chip cookies."

I give Martha a massive hug, "You are the best Martha how did you know I craved these cookies so much don't blame me but I think I will eat these cookies in a day," I say before Martha can say anything my mother comes walking in the kitchen smiling and talking to Kylie she then notices me and her expression changes

"Rhea, stop talking with the help rather do something valuable with your life," she says

I decided to just ignore my mother she treats everyone, who is maybe middle class, like spit under her shoe. i then go sit by the table.
Kylie, Mother, and Paul all sit around the table as they discuss a few things,

"So Daddy I was um thinking can you loan me your card i kinda need it for this dress i hoping to buy," Paul of course says "Yes Kiddo," My mother asks her and jokes," "Is that for Ares, Kylie you going to impress the guy with your fashion" Kylie then smirks.

" You know I will, that's one of the reasons why he fell for me in the first place," Kylie says and looks me in the eye well she says it hurts me I try to focus on my oatmeal and eat. My mother says, "Of course, you did, my darling. You guys make such a good couple with his good looks and your good looks it's a match made in heaven."

Kylie talks the rest of the morning about her and Ares's plans for college life and all I do is listen, thankfully breakfast is over I then go grab my bag and head to the door waiting for Layla to show up but before Layla can show up

Kylie comes to me and asks, "So I never really heard about your opinion about Ares and me I know it's months later it's a bit too late" I just look at her with a blank expression she is trying to get a reaction out of me.

"Why does my opinion matter to you," she then rolls her eyes and smirks," It doesn't duh but considering you and Ares are best friends it makes it more appropriate to get your opinion from his so-called friend," she says I know where this is heading too so I say," I'm happy for him," she then comes so close that we an inch away and looks me in the eye, "Are you really happy though I mean considering you in love with my boyfriend?" she asks

Luckily Layla arrives and gets out of her car to see what's happening, Kylie looks at Layla and says," Oh if it isn't my future sis-in-law Layla," Oh if it isn't my brother's dirty nasty ass girlfriend". Kylie gets furious and says to me, "Just stay away from my man Rhea" I just shake my head and walk to Layla's car just before hearing Layla shout, "Yeah well keep your fucking plastic away from my brother don't want him to stink of the fake plastic bitch you are."

We then head to her house her house is one of the best places I know as it faces a beach, then see Mrs. Walker she gives me a huge hug, saying, "Hey love, long time no seen my darling." I then say
