I was excited to start testing my new abilities after breakfast.... Or would this be lunch? Regardless, I walked with everyone to the dining room and sat at the head of the gaudy table that was made out of treated high quality wood and finished with what looked like some type of ebony. Who knows where that's from. Everyone sat down and left the chairs to my immediate left and right empty for my wives, who joined us as soon as we sat. They carried in 2 wide thin trays that carried sandwiches on them. Sarah's carried our sandwiches and Anna carried in the sandwiches for the guests. Once everyone was served by Anna, Sarah and Anna sat in the chairs that were saved for them and Sarah passed Anna and I, our food.
" Here you go! It's fried eggs with sausage patties! They were left in the freezer area and the dates said they were still good."
" Thank you very much!"
I bit into the sandwich after Anna told me about the ingredients and felt something was missing, I just couldn't put my finger on it. Whatever I thought about didn't truly matter, as my stomach took over and I devoured the sandwich while still following proper manners at the table that were befitting a Marquess. Once I had finished eating, Ellie who was sat next to Anna, across from her mother, spoke to me.
" You were really hungry weren't you, Lord Matthew?"
I looked at her and noticed she had some crumbs stuck to the corner of her mouth and I pointed to the spot on my own face while grinning at her.
"!"
Ellie noticed what I meant and wiped her mouth quickly with a napkin while I chuckled. Sarah looked at me disapprovingly.
" My Love, you shouldn't make fun of a lady."
I stopped laughing and began to answer Ellie's question.
" Yes, Ellie I was hungry, sorry about that, you just reminded me of someone I knew when I was young."
Sarah and Anna seemed to know who I was talking about, I decided to switch the topic before any questions were asked that might make my wives unhappy.
