Chapter 49. Date 2

Anna and I were riding in the carriage, the sky was a bit overcast, but sunlight would still shoot through the clouds in different places in the sky. While the carriage brought us closer to the city, Anna and I were talking amongst ourselves. We started with talking about our training for the past week, then we began to speak about the date. Anna began to explain her plans for the day to me.

" Well to start, I thought we could go and watch the first show in the theater in town. I was able to procure 2 tickets the other day!"

" Acting and plays exist in Gaia as well? Thats interesting! I wonder what stories people over here have thought up."

" Yes! They had it in your world as well John!"

" Oh! Today I'm John?"

I responded to Anna calling me by my name today in a playful way. To this, Anna looked a bit embarrassed, but she began to speak in a confident voice.

" Well... Today we are not on a date as Master and servant but as Man and Woman. Unless of course you want me to call you Master during the date?"

She got very pensive at the end there. I almost don't want to answer her, but I'd feel bad to leave her in that state.

" No, Anna you're right. Today it's a date between a man and a woman. And to answer your other question, yes plays exist in my world. We even go one step further in fact. We have technology that allows us to record plays and the like and it lets us rewatch it whenever."

Anna looked at me in amazement, she started to speak in an excited tone. Even the eyes on her arms were staring at me.

" What wonderous technology! If only that existed here on Gaia!"

She seems to have lost herself in her excitement and had gotten extremely close to me. At this distance I could tell Anna smelled like citrus today. Anna's hands touched my chest and she seemed to realize how close she was to me. She backed away and began to speak while flustered.

" J-j-j... John I'm so sorry!"

" Why? I enjoyed how happy you were. It was really cute."

After I said that Anna calmed down and we talked in a cheery way until the carriage dropped us off at the city gates. Since I wasn't with a celebrity this time, I was the only one who had to disguise myself. After I fully transformed from the potion, we simply walked right into the city after paying the entrance fee. We leisurely made our way to the theater and were seated in the upper left part of the audience. Anna leaned to me and began to speak.

" This play is done by the 2nd most popular troupe in Diablos! They're going to be doing one of their more famous stories! I hope you enjoy it!"

" Wow, this is a really big deal isn't it! I mean they must travel all around the country in order to perfect their skills and spread their troupe's name. We're super lucky to be able to see them on our rest day."

Anna nodded her head with enthusiasm. Before we could continue the conversation, the room darkened, and the play began. It started slowly and was set in an age from the annuls of Gaia's history. It seems to take place during the reign of the 44th King, Salar the unlucky. He appeared to be a strong king but wasn't the brightest. The play is about his travails trying to find a queen and defend against all the different invaders of Diablos, from humans to dark elves. He was able to repel them in the end. He eventually finds a wife and has 4 daughters. At the end of his reign, he defends an orphaned boy from a dragon who randomly attacked Diablos. He was able to vanquish the dragon but lost an arm and a leg. He retired to a quiet villa in the western part of Diablos after the battle. Surrounded by his family and the orphan boy who he adopted after saving him. He lived out the rest of his life as a respected figure in Diablos. It was a charming story. The lead actor really got across Salar's drive to protect his country.
