Chapter 59. Sharon's Solution

After a few hours I was lying down exhausted. After doing some experimentation with everyone, I've discovered some things. The first being that Scarlet's abilities eat through a decent amount of mana. That combined with the multiple summoning of Paula and Lily drained my mana quickly. So, I laid there breathing heavily.

" Well, I told you that you should've been using me in training!"

" Scarlet? You can hear me think?"

" We all can! We just don't answer or cut the connection when you need privacy!"

" You guys are pretty accommodating, aren't you?"

" Of course!"

All 4 responded to me. But I had a question for Scarlet.

" Scarlet, you said I should've trained with you more. Why is that?"

" Because like with controlling your mana leaking, using my abilities becomes easier with time and practice."

" I see, I guess I'm going to have to add using your abilities to my daily training menu. Just when I thought I had some leeway to."

" You must seek to rise further if you have the time. After all, you're contracted to me John!"

As I complained to Scarlet, Lily responded to me. I was going to reply but before I could I was interrupted by a familiar voice. Well, I guess we can talk later.

" Hey John, what are you doing here so early?"

" Hi Sharon, I'm here to tell you about a few things we just found out from Aqua."

After greeting her I explained what Aqua told us.

" It's great that they approved of us!"

Sharon flashed a proud smile. She looked refreshed from the news. She proceeded to ask me a question.

" So, why are you so tired John?"

" I've been practicing with my summons as well as Scarlet and Julia."

" Who are Scarlet and Julia?"

I summoned the armor and sword for a moment to show her them. I then explained they both had personalities.

" What strange items you have."

" Yeah, I seem to attract a certain type of person."

I stood up after speaking. I was getting ready to head over to the meditation fields, but Sharon asked me a question.

" Wait John! Where are you going?"

" Hm? Oh, I was planning to go meditate."

" Well how about instead, we spar? It'd be boring if I just practice my forms. Why not have a match with me?"

Sharon looked at me with a determined look. Seems she really wants to have a go at it. Well, why not?

" Sure we can Sharon. I'll spar for a bit. Just let me go and grab a training sword."

" No John! Use me!"

I stopped in my tracks. Scarlet yelled in my head to use her for sparring. I explained to her that it was a bad idea, since I couldn't control her properly, I could hurt Sharon if I'm not careful.

" Why are you just standing there?"

Sharon got my attention with a concerned question. I realized I just froze mid-walk and must have freaked her out.

" Sorry, Scarlet wants me to use her during our sparring session. I don't think it's a good idea. Since I can't control her well and my control with my sword technique is still lacking compared to you, Sharon. There's a chance one of us could get hurt."
