It's been a week and a half since we let the Humans stay. Surprisingly, there hasn't been much of an issue with either the combat group or the craftsmen group. It's the approach both groups are taking. They're being super considerate and polite to each other. Which isn't bad, but it shows they're all too afraid to really communicate. The only exception being Wendy and Emily with Ruby so far at least. I'm sitting in my office watching the town right now. It is bustling with everyone running around, but again, everyone seems to be on their best behavior.

" Well, what did you expect Little One? It's only been a week; it's going to take time or a life-threatening event to forge the bonds you want."

Julia spoke to me through our link after hearing my thoughts. Even though I haven't been able to spend much time with Julia, Scarlet or my Summons since I've been working so much, when I find some time in-between it all, is when I can usually talk with them. Especially after finishing the paperwork that comes with running a territory, usually once I'm done that, I can relax and have a conversation with them like now.

" Ms. Julia is correct John, you're a Lord who seeks to create a place where everyone and anyone can come and have the freedom to do business with whomever they please. While this might be commonplace in the country you grew up in, it's a radical idea here, you need to give it time and to make sure nothing untoward happens to the citizens."

Lily offers her 2 cents as well.

" I guess I'm trying to be more of a social engineer and less of a Lord. I guess I will just have to wait it out."

" It'll take time for any proposal and plan to start taking effect. It took weeks to get the first farm off of the ground, right? Trust in the process. Good people make good decisions John."

Gil spoke as well.

" Why not practice sword swings to work off some of the stress from worrying about everything?"

Scarlet offered some advice as well.

" Why not go for a hike? Learn the land towards the west and south next?"

Rex offered another way to blow off some steam.

" Why not take the 2 misses out for a flight on me? I'm sure you guys would like some time alone, right? I can drop you guys off on a mountain top to the east and you 3 can have a few hours to yourselves."

Hank offered another idea. As much as I'd like to take that offer, the town needs us here just in case of anything happening.

" Even though it needs the 3 of you, you shouldn't forget that all 3 of you also have needs!"

Paula also offered her opinion. I was happy for her. It seemed like it was yesterday, when she couldn't voice what she wanted to say. I'm glad she's grown more outspoken. Regardless, I knew what responsibilities I had to do before everything else.

" I'll try to relax as is. This place still needs hands-on supervision. Thank you all for the help and advice. I hope you guys won't mind if I rely on you all a bit more moving forward.

" Of course!"

All 7 of them answered in unison. I was going to get up and begin my inspection of the town for the day. I've taken to doing this at noon to see how everything is going. I decided to do this as I started fixing the walls and roads around Paradise with Gil's help. However, from this, people seem to think of it more as I'm keeping an eye out for anyone I may have to execute. The only people who don't have that view are the settlers and my hunting partners. It's a weird feeling having people think if they make one wrong move around me, I'd end their lives. Regardless, I had to do it. I got up and began to walk through the town.
