Chapter 155. Royal Taste Test

It's been 3 days since I told everyone who worked in the house that they could call me by name when in private. So far, only Jim, Janet and Ellie have called me by name. Today however, I leave Paradise. Not for long mind you, I just need to visit Warrick today. I'll also be bringing ice cream and cheeses with me. The 2 that were already completed and the 3rd which Jim was able to complete yesterday. I was shocked when I tasted it, real authentic mozzarella cheese. With that, the 3 cheeses I wanted to make at first are complete. I can't thank Jim enough; the guy has been working incredibly hard these past few weeks. I asked if he wanted anything for all of his hard work, his reply surprised me.

" I just want my family and I to always have a job here in Paradise. What they are, I'll leave it to your discretion Matthew."

After I thanked Jim for his hard work, I took a few small blocks of 2 cheeses and 2 small balls of the mozzarella cheese. That along with the ice cream should be enough.

" Are you sure we can't come with you?"

Ruby asked me about not being able to take anyone with me. I asked my own question.

" Even if I could, do you really want to come? I mean, I'm just going to sit and show Warrick and Aqua the ice cream and cheese. Then talk about any updates since the last report. So, things like how there's 8 farms now or how renovations have gotten completed to around 28%. If you're worried about my safety, I'm literally stepping from the portal right into Warrick's office. If anyone were to try anything, between Warrick, Aqua and me... Well, I'd wish them good luck before we fought."

" I guess when you put it like that..."

Seems Ruby thought it would be more exciting. Emily on the other hand seems to be curious about the meeting. Sarah and Anna are used to this by now, but they're still dissatisfied with the fact they can't come with me. Given the amount of tempering I've been able to do and the quality of it, I should be able to bring them with me next time. For now though, it was just me. Paula opened the portal for me, and I walked through after I said goodbye to everyone. I stepped out into Warrick's office. I saw an expectant Aqua sitting right next to Warrick. Then I looked to my left, and I was greeted by a familiar face.

" Crest! Long time no see!"

" The same to you John! Oh! I guess I should call you Matthew now?"

" No, John's fine, just don't let anyone else know about my actual name."

" Can do, kid!"

Crest's ears wiggled as we spoke to each other. It was good to see him after so long. He's been so busy running the Army that I haven't spoken to him properly since the day he had to leave after training all of us. As I spoke, I remembered that I had all of this food in my hand. A gallon of ice cream and all of the cheese on top of it. I placed it on the small table in the room and it drew the attention of the 3 people in the room.

" Is that the "ice cream" you told us about last time, John?"

I nodded my head to Warrick's question; I then separated the cheese from the top of the ice cream container and began to explain.

" This here is something called cheese. it's a savory and salty kind of food. It goes great with meat or bread, or for making a sandwich. First, I guess we should try the ice cream, do you happen to have any bowls and spoons per chance?"

/CREAK./

Just as I asked the question about the bowls, the door opened. It was Trish carrying a tray with bowls, plates, knives, forks and spoons. Everything I would need for the showcase.

" Trish, you really are a great maid."

To my compliment Trish flashed a proud smile. However, unlike a maid, after she handed out the plates, bowls and utensils. Trish neatly held her own bowl and spoon, seems she also has been looking forward to this new dessert. I take an ice cream scoop I had on the lid of the ice cream and began to dish it out. Starting with Warrick and Aqua of course. I dished out all 3 flavors to everyone and began to speak to them.
