Chapter 148. Cattle's Wants

It's been 3 days since the Humans left Paradise. The feeling of gloom gradually lifted as life began to return to normal. Today I decided to pay a visit to the barn in the ranch area where the cattle are kept. I wanted to know if they had any suggestions to improve their living conditions.

" It's still amazes me that you made a barn so quickly."

As I was lost in thought during my walk, Anna spoke to me. Sarah and Anna asked if they could join me for the visit. For some reason, they don't seem to enjoy the idea of me heading to the barn for any reason. I wonder why? It's just a bunch of cattle and male workers? I wonder why they feel the need to be so worried? Do they think I can't handle fighting around 100 D-Rank monsters? I'm pretty sure I could do it with a hand tied behind my back. Regardless of any reasons, we arrived at the barn with the sun still high in the sky.

" Good morning, Lord Drake! Lady Sarah! Lady Anna!"

We were greeted by the guard of the gate to the ranch.

" Larz, good morning. how are you today?"

I greeted him back and asked how he was.

" Ah, can't complain. The cattle listen to us when they get too close to the fence. Some kids come up and want to play with the calves, but we're able to shoo them away."

Larz answered my question with the happenings of his job.

" Maybe a petting zoo might make for a good idea?"

I mumbled the first thought that passed through my mind.

" A.... tt..ing ....o?"

Sarah asked me something, but I was so absorbed in thinking about the logistics I didn't really hear her. That snapped me out of my thought.

" Huh?"

I looked at her and she repeated her question.

" Oh. A zoo was a place in cities where they kept various animal species to be viewed by the public. It's how I first saw a lot of animals in real life. A petting zoo is a place that keeps safe animals that wouldn't harm Humans or children inside of it. For a price you could go and feed and play with the animals. It was a nice place to go with your children. I also thought it would be a fun date."

" Hmm I see. The cattle could work, but I doubt it would be an attraction if it was just cattle. That and their current reputation. Maybe after the dairy products start becoming popular and spreading..."

Now Sarah was mumbling. I did notice a sparkle in her eye when I said it was a good place to bring the family. Anna as well seemed to be lost in thought as she was looking at the barn where the cattle were in.

" Do... Do they always do that? I thought it was just you Lord Drake?"

Larz was curious about both my wives being lost in thought.

" I think everyone can get lost in their thoughts Larz. Would you like to see a magic trick to make them stop though?"

" A magic trick?"

I nodded to him, and he nodded as well. I put 3 fingers up and brought them down one at a time. Then I said the phrase.

" Oh, would you look at that pretty girl right there!"

"!!!"

"!!!"

With that, I broke both of my wives' train of thoughts and they were on the lookout for an enemy.

" Wow!"

Larz was impressed.

" I was joking Sarah, Anna."
