" I think it's time to head back, everyone."

I spoke loudly, so everyone could hear me. We've been hunting for around 9 hours. It took around 3 hours to make it to our base camp. In the time we spent hunting, we've gained 24 crabs, 86 fish, and 13 squirrels. I thought we'd be able to get more of everything, but the crab shells are all harder than steel, and the squirrels use a strange fighting style that uses their 4 limbs as well as their strong tails and sharp teeth. It's been good training though. Now however, the light from the sun was beginning to die down. I decided it was time to head back. Everyone was currently resting for the moment, Flare and Skitz were going over some points about hunting and Edmon was calculating how much food we had now.

" But how can we make it back in the dark, Lord Drake?"

Flare, not knowing about Paula, asked what we were going to do. I decided to answer her, so both Skitz and Edmon could hear as well.

" I'm a Summoner, Flare, I have a connection with a Spirit that can teleport us."

" Wow! I thought you were just a Paladin!"

" Well, I try not to let too many people know about my abilities. There's power in knowledge after all."

" I see! I promise Sir! I won't tell a soul!"

" I promise as well!"

" As do I, Sir!"

I'm glad I had their word. With that squared away, I summoned Paula.

" She's so cute!!!"

Flare met Paula and couldn't help but yell out as they shook hands as Paula introduced herself to everyone.

" Long time no see Sarah, Anna."

Paula spoke to Sarah and Anna for a bit, I wasn't able to summon her for the last 3 months as we were busy traveling. After around 10 minutes of talking, Paula made a portal large enough for us to get back to Paradise, it was around the size of 2 double doors side by side. We could all fit through it comfortably. We arrived at the northern entrance to the town in an instant.

" It was instantaneous!"

" I didn't even feel any discomfort."

Flare and Skitz were impressed at Paula's abilities. Meanwhile, Edmon was already trying to ask Paula questions about her abilities.

" Ms. Paula! How is this possible? Most Dark Pixies can only open a hole the size of themselves, right?"

Paula smiled and answered Edmon.

" It's all because of my Summoner! He helped me have more confidence in my abilities and because of the quality and quantity of his mana, I can do something like that!"

" What did you do, Lord Drake?"

Edmon looked at me after Paula's answer.

" All I did was treat Paula like a friend and asked her to train with me so we both could get better. The training we did was just repeatedly opening portals and testing different things, like could I thrust my sword and could she open a portal at the end point of the thrust and open an exit in a different place. We learned what worked and didn't work through trial and error. So, we did more and more experiments, but I'd rather not talk about them."

" And through that, you're able to open a portal the size of a cave entrance!?"

" Was it too cramped? We can make a bigger portal; it just tires me out still. I need more training."

I thought about all of those days of passing out from Paula and Lily's abilities making me pass out for periods of time from mana exhaustion. Speaking of which, I have to say, I feel pretty good still. I mean, I used a lot of magic while hunting and I even opened this giant portal. I still felt great. Maybe the High Paladin Job boosted my mana? I suppose so, since I don't think the mana tempering I've been doing would've increase my ability by this much. Regardless of my thoughts, Edmon was still amazed by the portal. Since it cost mana to keep it open, I closed the portal and asked Paula a question before sending her back.
