Chapter 142. Plans For The Future

" John, it's time to leave."

Anna called to me as I was finishing off some final paperwork about what to start making from all of the milk we've collected. I looked up at her as I rose from my seat.

" Everyone's already there?"

" Yes, which is why I used your name. Sarah is also in the house, she's downstairs waiting for us."

I walked to Anna, and we began to leave my office.

" I wonder if I can ever get to a point where I could reveal my real name to the people here?"

From my thinking out loud, Anna responded to me.

" Perhaps, but we should most likely vet people and create rules, like only calling you by your true name in our home."

" It sounds like you already have candidates?"

" I do, Ruby, for 1."

" She has been around for a bit, hasn't she?"

Ruby's more or less become my personal bodyguard in general. Pretty much, as soon as I walk out of my home, Ruby is at my left side watching our surroundings wherever I go. It's been a week since I debuted ice cream to everyone. And I'm very happy with the demand of the product. It was so great from just the participants from the lunch that day that I barely had enough to quell daily demand. Thankfully, with some help from Rex, I was able to learn from the cattle where other cattle were likely to graze, we've been able to obtain 75 cattle in total that have willingly moved into the barn of Paradise. with that, milk production will be fine for any daily needs in Paradise. I also have been growing a good surplus as well, I've set some away for experimenting with cheese. I hope I can also find out the right ratio of acid to make a decent sour cream soon. The chefs of Paradise are loving the basic recipes I gave them to use milk and cream. Jim in particular has gone crazy. Janet has been in a mood for the past week since Jim has spent so much time experimenting in the mansion's kitchen. I shudder to think what's going to happen when I start working on butter next week. But it needs to be done.

" There you are, thinking about work again."

Anna and I had walked down to the front room where Sarah was sat on the admittedly comfortable couch. She saw my face and accurately guessed what I was thinking about. That's become a habit of mine for the past while now. What can I say? I'm just so full of ideas and expectations. Regardless, it's rude to my family to have my mind somewhere else when we have so little time together as it is. Granted, Sarah and Anna are going to be able to have a nice vacation starting tomorrow as their jobs of watching over the Humans has finally come to an end. Tonight, is the banquet for their farewell. Which is why Anna came to get me as the sun was just about to set.

" Sorry, I promise, I won't think about anything else other than the night and of course, you 2."

" Well, that should be nice, right Anna?"

I look at Anna only to see her hesitate to answer.

" It's okay, you won't hurt my feelings."

After a little coaxing, Anna answered me.

" I think it would be nice, also it would be nice for us to have a day to be a couple.... Preferably one of the days when the servants have a day off..."

" I'm in favor of this!"

Sarah jumped with agreement to Anna's request. Well, I have been working a lot. Now is a good time to be able to relax. I've been working hard for..... Well, since I came here around 2 months ago. I guess they've gotten lonely. They must've been planning a situation like this where they could tell me plainly how they feel. I guess I should really let them know how I feel.
