Chapter 128. Restoring Mana

I was deep into the meditation. I had no idea how much time had passed. As a consequence of entering this meditation, I've become a bit more sensitive to mana. I can sense the mana around me. Ruby and Edmon hadn't moved yet, Ruby's mana felt like a nice summer day. Edmon felt like a cold late autumn night. But the true stars of the show, were the 2 familiar mana sources coming towards me. One was like a heavy purple blanket on a cold winter night. Even though the night was cold, the blanket kept me warm and alive. The other was like a relaxing spring day spent in a forest. If I couldn't have guessed my wives were here, the feeling of hitting the ground from the feeling of 2 people forcibly hugging me gave it away. I opened my eyes to find a pair of purple and a pair of green eyes staring back at me with concern.

" Sorry I made you worried."

With the looks on their faces, I could only say one thing.

" You're covered in blood..."

Anna sounded heartbroken as she spoke.

" Who! Did! This!?"

Sarah's voice was full of anger directed at the culprits. I begin to pat their heads in an attempt to calm both of them down.

" The person who did this is long gone. Relax and stop emitting bloodlust, you're scaring other victims of the culprit. Please Sarah."

Sarah heeded my words but was not pleased to know the person had escaped her wrath.

" What happened exactly?"

Sarah wanted answers. I explained everything from meeting Wendy to the idea of bringing the humans to Paradise. Sarah and Anna were silent as I explained, the hunting parties led by Skitz and Flare were also silent while I spoke. Eventually, Sarah proceeded to speak to me.

" So, the Elves attacked Humans... Strange. Why would they do that?"

" I'm not sure. I'd rather know why they pretended to be Dark Elves myself. Maybe they're a radical group who want to segregate Humans and Elves? Maybe they wanted Promethia to wage another war on the Dark Elves since the war on Diablos has reached a standstill?"

" Maybe, but if they wanted that, why not just join the war effort instead of staying out of it for a decade? Master, are you sure that it was Elves?"

" Yeah, as soon as that necklace was damaged, her entire appearance changed, and she was angry about it.

Sarah, Anna and I traded a few thoughts back and forth. 

" Lord Matthew, are you really sure about bringing the Humans to Paradise? I'm sure Big Sis and Edmon have told you, but it's going to cause a big problem most likely."

Flare spoke after the discussion between my wives, and I died down. I turned to her and answered her question.

" Yes, I am sure. I know it will be difficult based on all of the history that Humans and Demons have, but I think I have enough good reasons to get everyone to allow them to stay for a few weeks."

" Weeks?"

Emily asked, surprised at the time frame I gave. I turn to her so I could answer her now.

" Yes weeks. I can heal you all in a day, but what happens after you all leave and get attacked again. Neither the Demons here today or I will be able to help you again."

Emily looked disheartened by my words.

" However, just because you don't have combat jobs, that doesn't mean you can't learn some basics so you can stay alive on your journey. In return for my healing of you all and giving you lessons on self-defense. Throw in some weapons when you leave. I'll have you teach my craftsmen from some of your best. By the end of 3 to 4 weeks, I imagine you all should be able to leave in tip top shape with at least a shot of making it to Kuga. And my people will be more skilled in return in their respective fields. I think I'll have Ruby teach you if it all goes well."
