CHAPTER 27: Meeting again

Kirumi opened her eyes as she heard the gentle knocks on her door

"Kirumi..."

She sighed before leaving her bed and going towards the door

And once she opened it, she saw Akemi, standing by the door, with a tray of food on her hands

"Akemi-san..."

"Kirumi, you need to eat... Please..." The kakushi pleaded

She had stayed in Kirumi's estate ever since they went back from the swordmith village

Kirumi refused hundreds of times, but Akemi never backed down

She would stay with her and make sure that she wouldn't stop caring about herself

Two weeks had already gone by ever since they left the swordsmith village

And Kirumi spent most of her time in her room, more specifically, on her bed

".... I'm ok-"

"Kirumi... You have to eat. Right now... It's important" Akemi interrupted Kirumi's words, trying to convince her to take a bite of food

Kirumi let out a sigh before nodding her head and taking the tray of food "Thank you..."

"It's okay... Just... Eat" Akemi insisted for a last time before walking away

"So... You're accepting?" Akemi asked as she saw the Hashira sending her crow away

"Yes.... I guess it's all I can do... I... I have nothing else to do" Kirumi answered before moving away from the window "Uh... You can... You can leave now... If you'd like"

Akemi glanced at the younger girl before letting out a short laugh "Don't worry. I can stay, and I would like to stay"

"Kirumi-san!"

The Hashira lifted her gaze and spotted the, very, familiar face infront of her

She had met that girl years ago... During the final selection

"This is... scarier than I thought..." The young girl mumbled to herself as she looked around the area

It was filled with trees and she couldn't spot anything more than those

It was a cold night, and a light mist surrounded the area

A shiver ran down her body as she heard step growing closer from behind her

Her mind immediately thought 'Demon. A demon is coming at me'

And, although, she usually was completely confident, right now, she was all alone

Her own life was in her own hands, which was terrifying

"Woah!"

Thud

Kirumi groaned as she felt the weight of a whole other body over her own

She had fallen to the ground thanks to the girl crushing onto her, thus, making them both fall

"Oh, I'm really sorry! I didn't mean to! Are you okay?" The raven-haired girl asked as she held out her hand to help Kirumi

Seconds later, Kirumi took the girl's hand before wiping the dirt off of her haori

"Uhm, thank you" Kirumi thanked with a small bow

"What's your name?" The other girl asked, quite excited

"Uh, Kirumi... And yours?"

"Izumi..."

Kirumi sighed as she stood up and walked towards the girl "You're the first to arrive"

"Huh? Oh. No! I just finished Uzui-san's training. I was just passing by" She brieftly explained

"Oh... I see..."

"I heard you're going to be the last hashira. So, you still have a lot of time to rest... Well, except for missions, but still... You won't get more work for some time"

Kirumi nodded before talking again "Hmm... Yes, you're right"

"Anyway! I have to go, I don't want to be late. Take care!" Izumi waved her hand and walked out of the Light estate

"... Goodbye" She whispered to herself before going back inside the minka

▪︎ The first time Kirumi met Izumi, after she dissapeared, was in the butterfly mansion.

I know, it's almost going to be a month ever since I updated

But I just didn't know how to start this, so I had an author's block

Also, if you're confused over when Kirumi met Izumi again, it was in the 4th chapter

Anyway, I'm back, and I hopefully don't get an author's block again, because i do have the last two episodes of this arc, almost ready, so yeah
