When you got home after your first day of being a manager, you called your cousin. You felt Tsukishima would be the only one you could go to in regard to everything that took place today.
"Y/n? What's up?"
"Kei, something weird happened today."
"Weird how?"
"Well, I joined the boys' volleyball club at school today...."
"That is weird." Tsukishima deadpanned.
You continued. "And I met this guy with really beautiful eyes. And for some reason, we just feel kinda drawn to each other whenever we make eye contact. And then this annoying rooster looking guy constantly tears our attention away from each other whenever it seems like something might happen."
You hear Tsukishima sigh from his end. "I dunno what to tell you about this situation. I've never experienced anything like it, nor do I know of this kind of thing happening before. All I can tell you is be careful. Don't do anything you'll regret."
You spoke sarcastically to your cousin. "Wow, so helpful. I totally didn't know that."
"Oh, shut up. You called me, and this is the advice I can give. I seriously don't know how to help you. Do you have feelings for this guy or something?"
"I just met him, only know his name and that he's a second year on the volleyball team. There's no way I developed feelings that fast. If anything, it's just a fascination with his eyes."
"Then there you have it. It's nothing. Stop worrying about it. Just chalk it up as a weird thing and forget about it."
You shrug, knowing he couldn't see. "Ok, then."
"Anything else you wanted to talk about?"
"Not really. I just miss you."
"I miss you too. Yamaguchi also misses you. He almost broke down into tears when he couldn't talk to you during lunch."
"Oof. That sucks man. I'll give him a call later. Just keep an eye on him, I feel bad whenever he starts getting upset."
Tsukishima nods, also aware that you wouldn't be able to see it. "I get that. You've always been like a therapist to him ever since we met him."
"Yeah. That poor boy has horrible anxiety and really needs to stop getting picked on."
"He was kind of pathetic as a kid, though."
"Don't be mean to Tadashi. You are the only friend he has around right now. He needs you to be a good friend. I don't wanna head that you've been acting rude to him."
"What, you gonna call him to make sure I behave myself?"
You chuckle. "I might as well start doing that. Anyways, how's volleyball going for you?"
"Lame. There's an annoying shrimp and an even more annoying king on the team."
"Oh, so you're already not getting along with your teammates. Got it. I'll get the details from Tadashi."
He snorts on his end of the line. "Why go to him? I can tell you right now that all my teammates are loud and annoying. Very few of them hold any bit of intelligence. It's kind of pathetic that they somehow made it to high school like that."
"I can only imagine. And I get what ya mean by having annoying people around. So many people here in Tokyo are beyond annoying. It's like people only get worse in the more populated prefectures."
"Just knowing there are more people in that prefecture should give you a tip that you're gonna be faced with some of the most annoying people to ever exist."
"You right."
He sighs on his end. "I gotta get going. There's morning practice for us, and I'm gonna want to get enough rest before dealing with those morons."
"Makes sense. Get plenty of rest, Kei. I'll text ya tomorrow."
"Alright. Talk tomorrow." And he hung up.
You sighed, laying flat against your bed. Your thoughts wandered back to your encounters with Kenma. A small smile crept its way onto your face as you imagined what might have happened had you two not been interrupted by Kuroo.
You remember those beautiful, mesmerizing golden orbs of Kenma's. You remember the uncontrollable urge to close the distance between you two once you look into those orbs.
A part of you craved to actually experience what would happen when you two go uninterrupted during one of those moments. And your heart fluttered at all the things that came to mind.
You wanted to kiss Kenma. You wanted to stare into his eyes and go as far as you two can go without anyone bothering you.
You were attracted to the boy and his golden eyes.
