"Hi, Y/n!" Hinata greeted you as you walked into the gym.

You wave at the ginger. "Hey, Hinata."

He walks over to you, a big smile on his face. "You look great! Has everything been alright with you?"

You nod. "I've been fine. Just been a bit busy with my own club lately. I'm glad I was still able to come over to Miyagi for the weekend. It's nice and peaceful here."

"Busy how?"

"We had a practice match with another team and they keep wanting to spend time with my team whenever we have the time for it, like when our practice gets cancelled or on the weekends. Luckily for me, I get out of weekend hangouts since I come here."

He nods, understanding. "Must be hard. What's that team like?"

"They're strong, but one of their players is super loud and annoying."

"I'm sorry to hear that. But, it's great that you're here this weekend! I really wanted to see you!"

Your smile turns into a confused smile. "And why's that?"

"Cuz I like you! Wait! I wasn't supposed to say that! Forget I said anything!" He ran off as his teammates walked in, his face red.

You stare off into space, surprised by the sudden confession.

Tsukishima saw your face and walked over to you. "What happened?"

"Hinata confessed to me, told me to forget it, then ran off." You finally blinked, still in a daze.

The blond's eyes widened, surprised. He knew the shorter middle blocker liked you, but had no clue that he would actually confess his feelings to you. "That so? How are you gonna respond?"

You slowly turn to look at your cousin. "I have to respond?"

"Probably. If you do, how would you respond?"

"I'd let him down gently. I like him as a friend at most, there are definitely no romantic feelings on my end."

Tsukishima smiled at that. "Well, make sure shrimpy knows that, too."

You simply nod, not knowing how to respond further on the subject. Your cousin walks onto the court, joining up with his teammates.

During their practice, you could sometimes spot Hinata looking at you. But he'd quickly turn away when you two made eye contact. You took note of the red tint to his face each time he looked at you.

During a break, Nishinoya came up to you. "Hey, Y/n!"

You look over at the loud libero. "Yes?"

"Do you have a boyfriend?"

"No."

"Do you want one?"

"Why do you ask?"

He smirks. "Well, Shoyo is also single and I think you two would be cute together."

The gym went silent, everyone heard the libero's comment. They looked at Hinata before looking at you expectantly.

You blink. "Uh... I'm not looking for a relationship at the moment. I'd rather not have this kind of conversation." You walk away from the libero, heading over to your cousin.

He was glaring at the libero. "Asshole."

"That was... unexpected."

He looked at you. "Why didn't you just say you don't like shrimpy that way."

"That would've been an awful time to say that! I would feel bad for Hinata if the whole team heard that his crush doesn't like him that way!"

With weirdly good timing, your phone went off.

Akaashi: L/n, do you have a moment?

You: Yes. Why?

Akaashi: There may be a problem with the Nekoma team

You: What happened?

Akaashi: Mind if I call you?

You: Yeah, I'll just head outside

Akaashi: Thank you

You look over to your cousin. "Something's come up. I'm gonna head outside and take a call.

He nods. "Go ahead."

Akaashi calls you, causing you to run outside of the gym.

The rest of the team sees you run outside.

Yamaguchi approaches his friend. "Why did Y/n run outside, Tsukki?"

The tall boy with glasses looked at him. "She had to take a call."

Hinata asked a question out loud. "Who called her?"

Tsukishima shrugged. "Probably someone she knows from Tokyo. She didn't tell me who it was and I didn't see the contact name. But I don't think it's any of our business."

The boys agree and end their break. As they continue practicing, Hinata kept making small mistakes. He'd apologize for them and try to do better, but kept making them. His head was filled with concern for you.

He hoped you were alright.
