The main character Asher has been in many not so good relationships and he meets someone new, his friends warn him about rushing into things and remind him of his past experiences but they support him and his new found love
As I'm walking to Hayes house we're talking about anything and everything and I feel like I've known him forever, when we got there his house was very clean and plain but in a good way and I could tell they just moved here not to long ago
Hayes: Do you want to go out to eat? Asher: Like how? Hayes: Like a date Asher: I knew that i just wanted to hear you say it but sure I'd love to go on a date with you: ) Hayes: Do you a good place to go? I just moved here if you couldn't tell so I don't really know Asher: Hm... Let's go to Mama Mia Hayes: Isn't that a pizza place? Asher: Yes! So romantic right! And the arcade is right beside it Hayes: Okay
Just as we we've talking I see 2 people coming from a downstairs room that I didn't know was there and I assume that's his brother and his girlfriend that he told me about on the way here
Hs brother: Hey loser Hayes: Shut up that was corny Hs brother: Who are you Asher: Asher Hs brother: Another gay dude in the house? Hayes: Shut up and go back to doing whatever you were doing with her Hs brother: Hopefully he's not like Noor because I don't want to hear you crying for weeks again Brother gf: You didn't have to say that anyway where are you guys going? Hayes: Out Brothers gf: Well do you have money? Hayes: Urmm Brothers gf: Okay here's 40$ for food Hs brother: And here's 40$ to go do whatever it is your about to go do Hayes: Thanks... what's the catch? Hs brother: Let us have the house to ourselves for 2 hours Hayes: Deal
They make the deal and me and Hayes are standing on the sidewalk because he has no idea where to go so i start walking in the direction and he follows as we talk
Asher: So who was your brother talking about when he said you were crying for weeks? Hayes: ... Asher: Oh maybe I shouldn't have asked, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to, I won't force you Hayes: No it's okay I'll tell you, Noor is my ex and we broke up in the worse way possible. He told all his friends that he was using me and he didn't really want to be with me but he told me that he loved me and he couldn't imagine life without me. His friends told me that he was cheating on me and I didn't believe them because we were "In love" so he would never but I went trough his phone and there was all the proof, I asked him about it and he said "It's your fault, if you were a better boyfriend I wouldn't have had to cheat and if you would've never went through my phone you would've never found out" then he broke up with me, if he didn't I don't know if I would've stayed but he went around school telling people about it and yea that's what happened.
When he's done talking he looks at me waiting for a response so i try to come up with one fast because I know as good as anyone that silence is the devil
Asher: He fumbled the most perfect person ever so I feel bad for him Hayes: Thank you *sniff*
Hayes comes over and hugs me, I hug him back and I think of it as a milestone in our situation ship. We get to the arcade and start playing some games, Hayes is really great at games like basketball and pinball but I'm better at games like shooting and riding motorcycles. We play a game together and I kinda suck so Hayes goes behind me and directs the gun to where I'm aim
Hayes: Go over Asher: Like this? Hayes: There you go see you got it, now point the gun and... Shoot! *Pow*
I make the shot and jump up to hug Hayes and he says "You did it I'm so proud!" And I respond "Look at all the tickets"

The tickets roll in as me and Hayes watch in awe and when the machine counted them it came up to 450 combined with the other ones I won and the ones Hayes won. We picked out gifts for each other and he got me a Sonic bag

Then we went to the pizza place next door and ate but we couldn't decide on a topping so we got half of what I wanted and half of what he liked and we did more talking then eating because he's a great listener and he had a couple of stories to share with me to. I don't remember how we got on the topic but we started talking about our past relationships and most of ours ended the same way.
Hayes pov I really like Asher, he told me some of his friends were worried that if we date that it'll end in the same way his other ones did and I honestly don't see how they could've ended that way, Asher is perfect inside and out well to me at least and I would never hurt him. There was sort of a wall up between us because our past relationships were keeping us from giving to much of ourselves away but now I feel like I could talk to him about anything, I've told him about nearly every relationship I've been in and there wasn't a hint of judgment from him not even once. The way he jumps up and gets excited when something he's passionate about gets brought up makes me smile and the way he gets mad at himself when he stutters or stumbles over his words is so cute, how could I not fall for him?
We go our separate ways after we walk around the city for a while and when I get home I immediately FaceTime the group chat
Everest: How was it tell us everything! Bryce: Don't leave out a single detail! He tells the story Dakota: So he held your hand?! Asher: YES!! Neil: You guys should get married already! Asher: I KNOW RIGHT! Caleb: How did it end?! Asher: So I was looking out into the distance then he said "Hey Asher..." and I was like "Yea?" In a very cool way then he was leaning in and I started freaking out then his phone went off Everest: DAMN IT! Neil: Worse timing possible Bryce: Well who was it? Asher: His brother telling him to come home Everest: Did you meet his brother? Asher: Yes Caleb: Well what's his brother like? Asher: He didn't really say anything to me but he was sort of rude to Hayes but I can tell he cares about him Dakota: Well what did Hayes say when he left? Asher: He said "I had fun today I hope we can do this again sometime" and smiled at me with the cutest smile, I wanted to melt! Neil: Aw that's so cute 🥹, did he walk you home? Asher: He walked me half way!!! Everest: SO ROMANTIC Caleb: Right! Bryce: Maybe he can come over your house next time Dakota: Ouu Asher: That would be nice...
