Asher's pov
Okay tomorrows the big day and I'm ready! I have my outfit laid out on my bed and I have my pickup line ready. When I got to school the crew was all in the hallway, they all said hey to me and some of them hugged me and I did the same then I saw Hayes at the water fountain facing away from me so I snuck up on him "Boo!" I yelled and he let out the girliest scream I've ever heard. Me and Everest laughed until we felt like throwing up while Hayes said "Stop laughing! That wasn't me it was my shoe!"

Hayes's pov
I'll never hear the end of them laughing at my scream, thank god Everest isn't in our class because if she was her and Asher would laugh about it all day. We were about to leave 1st period when we heard a voice say "Asher come on" and I didn't know who it was but I guess Asher did because he quickly put away his things and hopped to the door "I'll be back" he said and I nodded my head as he left and that continued the whole school day until 4th period when I finally saw who he was going with, it's not like they were trying to hide or anything I just didn't see who it was but it was Ryan so that took some weight off my shoulders because Asher isn't just running around with a random guy I don't know but I still kinda want to know what there talking about

Asher's pov
I took pictures of the anniversary basket I got for Hayes to show Ryan and he's been critiquing it and telling what to add but we can only talk for about 5-10 minutes at a time because he has practice and class, I can see Hayes getting curious but I don't want him to find out what we're talking about because it's supposed to be a surprise. At the end of the day I walked home with Hayes and he asked "So are you and Ryan close now?" And I replied "You can say that" and he says "That's good...so what you guys talking about?" And I say "Oh nothing important" trying to build suspense the Hayes asks "Can I come over today", I smile and say sure because I love when he comes over, Avery is at volleyball practice or the treehouse most of the time so I get pretty bored

Hayes pov
When we get to Asher's house he asks me to wait outside and I say sure while sitting on the porch then after a minute he comes back out and invites me in, we sit in the living talking and watching tv until it was dark out, probably around 11:30 then the phone rings and Asher says "Oh it's Ryan, Do you mind if I answer this?" And I say "Go ahead : )" and he smiles as he answers it and goes upstairs. Now I'm not a mistrusting person and I don't get jealous often but now that Ryan is getting most of his day I'm starting to feel a way so as I sit in the living room waiting for Asher to come but I get impatient and go upstairs

Asher's pov
I was in the bathroom with my elbows on the sink with the door open talking to Ryan about my outfit and telling him my pick up line then all of a sudden Hayes comes in

Asher: Hey watcha up to?
Hayes: Still on the phone with Ryan?
Asher: Mhm
Hayes: I crave you
Asher: Right now?
Hayes: Now
Asher: Ryan I'll call you tomorrow
Ryan: O-
*Beep*

I hang up and Me and Hayes go into my room and lock the door, Around 30 minutes later we finish and a alarm goes off which means it's 12 am. "Happy anniversary" we say simultaneously then we clean up and we go
into the kitchen

Hayes: Tell the truth, what were you and Ryan talking about all this week?
Asher: Well since it's today then I'll tell you, we were talking about your gift
Hayes: M-My gift?
Asher: Mhm : )
Hayes: My gift?!
Asher: Yep

Hayes pov
I'm a fucking idiot, why did it take me this long to put that together. It's are anniversary so he needed to know what I would want and who better to ask then my best friend, we stay together and talk till like 2 am when Asher falls asleep on my lap and I want to stay so bad but we have school today so I slip away and kiss his forehead then go home to get some sleep before I have to wake up again in a few hours

Asher's pov
I wake up and Hayes isn't there but I know for sure he was here when I fell asleep so he must have left last night. I'm so excited to go to school, when I got there the crew was in the hallway chatting as always and they said hi to me and I did the same. Me and Hayes agreed to exchange gifts after school and my parents insisted on doing it at my house so they can "Savor the moment". Everest's pov
Last night Bryce gave me some lip gloss that looks clear but stains your red and I decided that I have to put my new power to the test. I find my target which is Asher and I go over to him, now if your wondering why I picked him it's because todays his anniversary so he needs a couple eyes on him. I tap his shoulder and when he turns around I say "Hey look at this" and swipe the lip gloss on his lips, he looks at the lube which makes the lipgloss look clear then he says "Thanks I guess" and I respond "Mhm your welcome now go kiss Hayes" I know it sounds suspicious but I try to look pure, it worked because we goes over to Hayes and kiss him on the cheek

Asher's pov
I followed Everest's instructions like a dummy and kissed Hayes on his cheek then said "Happy anniversary : )" and he said it back as he hugged me by my waist then when he turned to grab something I noticed a bright red kiss mark on his cheek. It took me a while to realize it was from me and the lipgloss Everest gave me so I looked in the mirror to see if it was on my lips and they were bright red to, I look at Everest who is fist bumping Bryce and I don't know if I should warn Hayes about it but he looks cute with the mark on his cheek so I don't tell

Bryce's pov
Me and Everest thought that they'll be embarrassed about the bright red and we only did it to see their reactions then we were gonna tell them how to get it off but of course we were wrong, they went into the bathroom while me and Everest looked at the closed door and when they came out Hayes had bright red marks all over his face and like 3 on his neck so we knew our plan had failed and as they walked into class Asher stuck his tongue out at us

Hayes pov
I was in the bathroom with Asher and I noticed he had red lipgloss on, I figured it's just something he likes and I'm into it so I didn't say anything. As I was talking he was kissing my face and neck while agreeing with me by saying "Mhm". After all the lipgloss was off of him I realized it was on me where he was kissing me so I looked in the mirror and saw all the kiss marks, I didn't care and I wore them proudly through the day until they were mostly unnoticeable at the end of the day. I went home to get Asher's presents then me and the whole crew meet at his house to reveal them
