Deku: The Feared Hero (Re-Worked)

Chapter 69

Izuku wrote down the schematics for Mei's next project as she happily sat in his lap. 

Izuku: "Do I really need to-" he started. 

Mei: "Yes." she said firmly, still smiling.

Izuku then let out another sigh as he continued writing down measurements and designs. 

Izuku: "It wasn't even my fault-" he muttered

Mei: "I thought about you 1,358 times for the first few hours you were gone." she said, " I tried to think about other things, but the thought of you was a lot more appealing." she explained, "  But then I started observing your vitals, and then heard you got injured.. I couldn't take it anymore." she shivered, "You were so close to another quirk malfunction.. so, so, so close."

Izuku then glanced down at Mei before looking at the vitals displayed on the large screen. He then got an idea. 

Izuku: " Mei, see that screen with my vitals?" he asked. 

Mei: "Yes, I do." she said sniffling.

Izuku: " You can see that no matter where you are right? I'm pretty sure you have a watch that's linked to it right?" he asked. 

Mei: "Yes.. I do." she said. 

Izuku: " Then no matter what happens to me, you can see that I'm still breathing." he said. "As long as those vitals are up on that screen, or on that watch, and fluctuating as much as they are, you can tell that I'm still kicking right?" 

Mei: "I.. I guess so."

Izuku: "C'mon, don't be like that." he said, hugging her, " I promise you, no matter what, those vitals won't hit zero, not ever." he said as he wiped the tears from her eyes.

Mei: "Okay." she said, leaning into Izuku. 

Mr. Hatsume: "Ahem!" he said loudly, causing Izuku to nearly jump out of the seat, only being held down by Mei.

Izuku: "H-Hello M-Mr. Hatsume." he said, his voice quivering some. 

Mr. Hatsume: " Hello.. Mister Midoriya." he said, " I see that you've.. taken some liberties with you hair color." 

Izuku then let out a small chuckle.

Izuku: "Actually, this is because of a quirk awakening." he said. 

Mr. Hatsume: "Oh really." he said.

Mei: "Quirk awakening?" she asked, "You didn't tell me that." she said in a sad tone, causing Mr. Hatsume to glare at him.

Izuku: "W-Well I was hospitalized and.. then forced to take a break.. as well as a few other things." 

Mr. Hatsume: "No matter," he sighed, "Though I am interested in this.. quirk awakening." he muttered, " From what I've read about your various quirks, it's hard to imagine any possible upgrades any of them could take." 

Mei: "I told you to not look at that." she said, nearly growling.

Mr. Hatsume: " What was I suppose to do, you never tell me about him." he scolded.

Izuku: "W-well, I haven't been able to access the ability again, I'm still training to have the ability reemerge." 

Mr. Hatsume: " Well, that's unfortunate." he said, "Anyway, both of you get ready." he said before he pressed a button on a wall panel, " I have a reservation at an establishment that I would rather not waste." The wall panel then opened up before revealing a red dress and a black suit.

Izuku: "R-Reservations?" he asked. 

Mr. Hatsume: " Yes, not get ready please." he said, " And in separate rooms, Mei." he said sternly before walking out the room.
