HENRY POV:
The air still smelt of smoke and ash. Even hours later after the flames had long since been extinguished.
I stood amongst what was left of the Convention, even with the fire department arriving they could do little to save the building. Only make sure the flames didn't spread.
Around the edges of the building's remains were a gathering of police and reporters. The police were gathering evidence and taking witness statements. And the reporters covering what was known about what happened and also adding some fake information to make the story sound more interesting.
"Mr Emily." I looked up from the rubble beneath my feet to the young man approaching me. "Sorry if I'm intruding, but you should be resting."
"I'm fine Han." I replied with a grunt as I leaned against my cane. "It's going to take more than a knife to stop me."
"Are you sure Sir?" Han asked with a look of concern on his face.
"Trust me kid. I'm fine." I said with a nod as I waved him closer. "Now what did ya need me for? Because I doubt you'd be coming to check on me with a clipboard in hand."
"Sorry sir." He said as passed me the clipboard and a pen. "Some salvage guys showed up to grab the animatronics for scrap. They just need you to sign-"
"They ain't scrap." I said as I handed him back the clipboard. "Tell them to get lost."
"What do we do with the Animatronics then sir?" Han asked as we both looked over to where they were sitting against the side of a company van. All 10 girls, plus one Endoskeleton that was severely burnt and missing its legs and eyes.
"Have them transported to my personal workshop." I said as I began to walk over to where a car was parked on the side of the road waiting for me. "And tell the guy running the megaplex project that the adult lounge has been approved."
"Very well Mr Emily." Han said as he pulled out his phone and began to dial a number. "Is there anything else?"
"Yes." I said as I climbed into the passenger seat of the car. "Did the police catch what direction the car that drove out of the building went?"
"Not quite." Han answered as he adjusted his glasses. "It was last seen pulling out onto the south highway. After that they lost track of it because there were no more security cameras around to look for it."
"Hmm. Alright, organise a meeting with the board for tomorrow afternoon." I said as I closed the door of the car and handed the driver a note with an address on it. "Take me here please."
It was a somewhat long ride to get to the location, traffic was oddly heavy on the freeway this early in the morning. But eventually we pulled up on the side of a dirt road to a large open gate. Another car was already parked there with a man waiting next to it.
"Is this the place sir?" the driver asked as he looked over into the back seat.
"Yes." I replied simply as I climbed out of the car before handing him a 100 note. "Give that man a lift back to town would you."
The man who brought my car out handed me the keys before climbing into the car that brought me here. I watched them off before hopping into my car and heading up the driveway of the property.
The fog was rather thick this morning, likely thanks to the storm last night. And said fog mixed with the early morning sky cast the driveway in a rather ominous haze, with the dead trees almost looking like corpses thanks to the limited vision.
After a short drive I came up to a familiar rundown farmhouse. I once had fond memories of this place. Back when I would consider the owners close friends These days those memories don't seem so nice.
Hoping out of my car I walked around the side of the building. There was an old shed just next to the building, with a certain car I recognised from last night parked next to it. You'd think it was a different car looking at the amount of body damage it had taken and the layer of soot and ash covering it though.
I watched as the cracked headlights on the car flickered for a moment as I walked past. That's all it did though as I walked over to the open bulkhead door on the side of the farm house.
Heading down into the basement of the old house I found a thin layer of water covering the ground, likely from the storm last night. And the old bunker door was open, but no light turned on inside.
Walking in I went straight for a row of large cabinets that were placed along the side of one of the walls. Grabbing the edge of the middle Cabinet I pulled, causing the cabinet to swing out via the hinges mounted to the side.
Pulling away the cabinet revealed a set of double steel sliding doors with a single glass window on each door. Through the glass you could see the metal room behind it, with pipes and wires strung against the wall, and other smaller windows which allowed you to see the elevator cables that held up the small room.
"Don't worry kid." I muttered as I walked to the elevator and pressed the down button. Before pulling out the only item I had in my pocket. A single animatronic eye with a Hazel coloured iris. "I will put you back together."
And with that, this book comes to an end.
You guys probably don't get how oddly emotional this actually is for me. I started publishing this book over 2 and a half years ago, 3+ years if you count the failed starts I tried before coming to this idea. I was just under 17 when I started, and now today I'm 20.
I know I've said this a lot, Even though I also love to fuck with you guys. But I'd like to thank you all for helping me get this book so far, hearing that you all enjoyed it meant a lot more to me than you realise. and I hope you will enjoy the next book as much as you enjoyed this one.
Until then, Thanks for reading.
