Chapter 2: A New Monster

'Silver's POV'

Weeks pass. They haven't even tried to take Julia from me yet... Why? They aren't kind hearted... So why haven't they tried to take her away and do horrible experiments on her?...

Just as in thinking this, they approach my cage. I immediately stand up to protect Julia

"Silver, we aren't here for the girl." Vanessa sounds annoyed. I go with them without a fight, as long as they don't try to take Julia from me...

I don't know why I feel the need to protect her... I just don't want her to end up like me... A mutant who doesn't fit in anywhere in the world and hates the guts of the people who made her like this...

They take me into another room, a metal one this time. There is a window on one wall. I look to my surroundings and see a female lizard mutant, and a knife and a bed sheet on a small table.

What do they want me to do..? I think. I look to the experiment, she's laying on the floor, bleeding out of a cut on her stomach. She's bled so much that there's a puddle of her own blood surrounding her

I turn to the window, where Vanessa and a few other white coats are watching me. Vanessa writes something down on her clipboard

"You have a choice Silver, make it!" She yells through the glass.

I finally understand, I can either try and heal her, or kill her....

I walk over to the table and look at the two objects; a bed sheet, and a knife. I look at the suffering mutant and make my choice. I pick up the knife and walk to her, kneeling once I get close enough

"I'm so sorry you've had to live through this," I tell her and stretch my wings out so that Vanessa and the other white coats can't get the pleasure out of watching me murder another experiment

"Don't be sorry... Thank you... For doing this..." she tries to smile at me. I smile back as tears sting at my eyes, I don't want to do this, but I can't let her suffer

"You're welcome," and with that I shove the blade of the knife into her heart. She stops moving instantly. Her body goes limp and pale.

I retract my wings and look to the opening metal door

"Good job Silver... You really are one of my most successful experiments," Vanessa walks to me, then behind me. She forces my wings to their full span.

"Don't touch me!!" As soon as I begin to struggle the other white coats grab my arms and force me to stay still. They hold my wings at a painful span, I hold back the scream in my throat

"I see your wings have become more powerful, we'll have to test them..." I can almost feel the smirk in her voice

"Vanessa, have you told her about the girl?" My eyes widen as the other white coat speaks

"No!! Julia!! What did you do to her?!?!" I begin struggling. I break free of their grasp, only to be grabbed again and shoved against the wall "answer me!" I demand

"Oh, dear, you didn't think we'd just leave her alone, did you?" She laughs and walks towards me

"What did you do?!" I scream and try to flap my wings. I knock a couple of them off and continue to flap.

As soon as I'm free I attack Vanessa, tackling her to the ground, I scratch and hit her. The white coats rush around the room, some try to get me off of Vanessa, but they aren't any match. She holds my hands, which hold her around the neck. I breathe hard and my grip around her neck tightens.

I feel a sharp pain in my lower back and turn to see a guard smirking. I look to my back and see a paralyzer dart sticking out of my back.

I start to get dizzy and small black dots appear on the edges of my vision.
