'Lilian's POV'
He doesn't even make it out of the view of the hideout
"Kadence-!"
"That can't kill her! I need her!!" He screams and kicks as Cole and Zane hold him to the ground.
Tears fall from the child's bright blue eyes... Those eyes... They're Silver's eyes....
"Kadence, please don't make this difficult..." I whisper, he stops screaming and looks at me
"B-but she can't die... She's the only one I've got left... She's my mommy..." Zane and Cole slowly let him up. He sits up and wipes his runny nose with the sleeve of his sweater
"Kadence, if I truly know Silver, she'll find a way out of there. She'll come back to us." Tears begin to fall down my cheeks as well
"Thank you..." He hugs me, his little arms wrapping around my neck. We take him back to the hideout, where Clarissa is waiting for us, asking if anyone got any injuries. After telling her that no one was injured, we go to bed.
'Silver's POV'
"Kadence! Let him go!" A female white coat drags him into a light in the centre of the room. She turns, and I see her smirk glow in the dark. I'd know that smirk anywhere
"Vanessa! Let my son go!" I scream, pulling against the chains that keep me away from my child
"Silver, I've told you, he belongs to us!" She pulls out a knife, but it has blood on it. I gasp in realization; it's Julia's blood. That's the knife that she killed Julia with
"You can't even protect your own child!" She plunges the knife into his stomach
"No!!" An earth-shaking shriek escapes my lips.
I jolt awake, sitting up in my metal bed. The covers had been thrown to the floor.
I'd never cared about throwing my life away before. But now I've got something to live for: Kadence, my son. I have to get myself out of here. I can't let him live without any family... I have to be there for him...
The cage door startles me as it opens
"Come with me, Silver." I step out of bed and walk with her. She leads me into a conference room.
I spot a middle aged man with his hands folded tightly in front of him, resting on the table. His greying hair is slicked back neatly, his harsh grey eyes focused on me
"Mr. Skies, this is Silver." She motions for me to sit down at the seat opposite to him at the long table. I sit down and
"Ah, experiment SVR. You've grown." I bring my eyes to meet his intense stare
"Who are you?" I ask
"I am Christopher Skies, the owner of every institution in the entire world." He stated confidently. My eyes widen. Why am I meeting this man, and what's keeping me from jumping across the table and strangling him?
"Why am I here? What do you want with me?" My voice sounds harsh, like his glare
"Because, you've caused me grief, SVR-" I cut him off
"Quit calling me that! I have a name, and it's Silver!" It annoys me to have someone as awful as him call me by my name, but it's a hell of a lot better than 'SVR', whatever that stands for
"Fine, Silver, you are here because you know where the rebellion is hiding. I plan on getting that information from you."
"Good luck. I'm not telling you, not in a thousand years." I cross my arms over my chest. He leans forward, dropping his voice low
"Silver, I have ways of getting you to speak..."
"I don't care what you do to me!" I snap at him
"Well than, I guess you don't care about seeing your son ever again." He sits back, probably enjoying the fact that there's tears in my eyes
"I'm not telling you." I say again
"Come on Silver, tell us and you can leave this place." Vanessa says in a soft voice
"Don't lie to me. I know you'll never let me out of here." I keep myself from yelling, it wouldn't do any good in this situation
"Alright, it looks like we're going to have to use more... Painful methods of getting you to talk." He nods to the two white coats standing beside him.
They grab my arms and force me out of my seat
"No!" I scream and thrash, but they hold me tightly, forcing me down many halls, and into a metal room.
I'm strapped to a large wooden pole that stands in the canter of the room. My arms are chained behind me, forcing my back to be in continuous contact with the pole
"Silver, I'm going to give you one more chance to tell us where they're hiding." I don't say a word, I only watch as he grabs a large whip off of the wall "have it your way."
He pulls my T-shirt up, exposing my stomach.
I close my eyes in anticipation of the whip. It hits against my stomach and I bite down on my lips so hard I draw blood.
Seven...
Eleven...
Nineteen...
Twenty four...
Thirty...
Thirty eight...
I count as the whip comes into contact with my stomach. I try my hardest to keep myself from screaming, but on whip forty, it escapes my throat
"Th-that's enough for now." I hear Vanessa's voice. The metal door slams closed as Christopher exits the room.
I let my tears slip down my cheeks. My legs get weak, and without anything holding me up, I fall to the ground.
I feel Vanessa unlock the chains on my wrists. She picks me up carefully and sets me onto a metal bed that looks like it's been used for surgery.
When I open my eyes, I immediately look down at my stomach. It's already bruised. Not every hit left a cut, but a lot of them did.
When I look at her, I see that Vanessa is crying as she readies the medicine for my stomach
"Why are you crying?" I whisper, not able to ask in any louder of a voice. She seems surprised that I'd asked the question
"Because, Silver, you are my experiment. I've watched you grow up... It feels like you're my own child... It brings me so much pain to watch him do that to you..."
"Don't act like you care about me!" I shout as loud as I can at the moment, which is not very loud.
I cringe as she applies the cold liquid onto my stomach. It stings as she cleans my cuts and applies an anti-infection cream.
After that, I'm sent back to my cell to try and get to sleep.
