'Silver's POV'
She leads us down the stairs. It seems like forever, but we finally come to a door. She places her hand on the high tech-looking pad beside the door. It scans her hand and flashes green. The big, metal doors open, allowing us to walk inside.
The heavy doors close behind us. Vanessa's walkie-talkie beeps
"Vanessa, the boy is ready for testing."
She takes it off of her belt and presses a button on the side "Alright, I'll be there with his parents in a minute."
We're lead into an observation room. Khaos and I are chained with our hands behind our backs to the wall. There are many white coats standing with us on this side on this side of the blacked-out glass
"Silver, I'm sure you'll remember this test." The window becomes transparent and I see Kadence strapped to a chair. Vanessa holds a large knife in her hand. He's only a child, he can't break the window like I did!
Kadence's eyes focus on Khaos and I
"Mommy, daddy, help me, please!" His eyes fill with tears.
"Kadence, everything's going to be okay!" Khaos calls. One of the white coats kicks him in the side
"Shut up, mutation." She spits. I keep my mouth shut, I know that this could go badly
"Khaos, Vanessa is going to cut his arm, see how he stops the bleeding, then the room is going to fill with water. When I did this test, I broke the window to get out, but-!" One of the other white coats gives me a hard kick to my ribs
"Shut up!" He demands
"He's only a child!" Khaos shouts at the white coats
I hear Kadence scream and turn my attention back to him. I see Vanessa walk into the room we're in. The straps of his chair pop open and he jumps up. He holds his hand against the wound on his shoulder
"Find something to wrap around it!" I call, he looks at me and gives a nervous nod
"Somebody cover her mouth with something!" Vanessa demands. One of the white coats takes out a handkerchief, forcing part of it into my mouth. They tie it around the back of my head. It takes four of them to hold me down and tie it
I watch as Kadence rips the tablecloth and ties it around his bloody wound. Kadence looks at me and smiles because he thinks it's over. I let a few tears run down my cheeks
The room begins to fill with water. Kadence can't swim, and he probably can't hold his breath for long.
"Kadence, find something heavy to break the window with!" Khaos shouts. Kadence nods again
"Gag him too!" It takes four white coats and three guards to get the handkerchief into Khaos' mouth and tied around his head
Khaos and I watch helplessly as Kadence picks up various items and throws them at the window, trying to break it.
The water begins to rise faster and faster. Soon, he can't reach bottom. I want to scream at him to use his wings, but the gag prevents me from doing that.
"Mommy, daddy, help! Please!" He screams as his head slips under water
"Use your wings!" I try to scream, but it comes out muffled and unintelligible. Then, I get an idea. I'll show him
I unfold my wings and flap them. I don't get far off of the ground, because of the chains
"Stop that!" I'm shot with a taser gun, causing me to fall to the ground
Kadence understands and flies above the water. Still, it won't take long for the water to fill the room.
Khaos uses his head to motion to the ceiling. I look at the roof of the room Kadence is in and see what Khaos is saying. There's a vent opening on the far side of the room, and one in the ceiling of the room we're in
I use my head to motion to the ceiling as well. Kadence looks at the ceiling and notices the vent. He pulls the vent cover off of the vent and flies inside as the water fills the room.
The vent covering falls off of the vent in the room we're in and Kadence drops to the ground out of it. The water from the other room immediately begins to drain
"Kadence!" Again, my voice is unintelligible. Still, he runs to Khaos and I.
Kadence can't make it to us before two guards grab his arms
"You rely on your parents too much. You must learn to act on your own." One of the white coats states
We're his parents, that's what we're here for! He's supposed to be able to rely on us!
"What do you think about that, Silver? Oh, I forgot, you can't make any comments." Another white coat says. All the white coats and guards laugh
"Hey, don't be mean to my mommy!" Kadence yells, using his wings to hover over the ground, then kicking both guards in the shins
I feel a smile play on my lips
"You little brat!" Both guards force him to his knees, then twist his arms behind his back
"Ow!" He squeals. I scream against my gag and pull against the chains that keep me away from my son. Vanessa walks over to him, making me pull against my chains even harder
"Kadence, things would be so much easier if you would just cooperate with us." She says calmly
"I'll never cooperate with you! Ever!" He screams. I smile, that's my boy.
"Ugh, he's just like his mother..." I hear one of the white coats grumble
"I know, she ruined our indestructible weapon, and now she's ruined their son." Another says
"That's right. Although, we've never had any mutation that's been as uncooperative and troublesome as Silver, we've also never had a female experiment that's come close to being as successful as she is." Another male white coat says
I'm getting sick of them talking about me like I'm not standing in the same room as them...
I begin screaming through my gag
"Good lord, what's she doing?" I hear one of them ask in surprise
"Take their gags off." Vanessa orders. I'm held down while they untie my gag. The same is done to Khaos
"Let me see my son." I narrow my eyes and look at Vanessa
"Sorry, he has more tests to go through." She laughs
"No! I don't want more tests! They hurt! Mommy, daddy, help! Please..." He, knowing that we are completely helpless in this situation, begins to cry
"I'm so sorry, Kadence..." I hang my head as they drag my child out of the room.
