'Silver's POV'

I begin falling through darkness. I try to scream, but no sound escapes my throat.

I see a light at the bottom of the darkness, a light that I am quickly approaching

I try to flap my wings, but find they aren't there

Is this the end?

"Silver!" A young voice calls out. A small hand grabs mine and suddenly, I stop falling. I look up and see Little Me. She flaps her small wings hard, desperately trying to keep both of us in the air

"Little Me?" She looks at me with sad eyes

"You can't leave, Silver, your family, they need you." She says

"But I've done what I was needed for. The war is over. Isn't it?" She shakes her head

"They have one last resort. They have one last thing to try... And they need Kadence to do it..." As soon as she says the words, my grip on her wrist tightens

"I have to protect him!" She smiles and drops me

"Let's go then!" My wings appear on my back. I flap them hard, pushing myself upward, following little me into the darkness I was falling from.

I hear something beeping at a steady pace.

"It appears she is waking up." I hear a nurse say "please refrain from saying anything that would cause her distress." She continues. What is that supposed to mean?

I open my eyes slowly, causing a pounding headache to begin splitting my head into two

"Silver, you're finally awake." I hear the relieved voice of my father

"I'm so glad you're alright." There's Lilian. I look around the room, where are Khaos and Kadence?

"Where are Khaos and Kadence?" I ask

"Don't worry, they're at the hideout." I breathe a sigh of relief

Little Me's words are still lingering in my mind; they have one last thing to try, and they need Kadence to do it.

"Here, drink this." A nurse presses a button and my medical bed slowly rises so that I'm sitting. She then hands me a cup of water

"Thank you." I drink the water slowly. As soon as I put the cup down, Lilian's arms are wrapped around me. I smile and wrap my arms around her back

"How long was I out for?" I ask

"A week and three days." She whispers, on the verge of tears

She pulls back and I look at her face, I can immediately tell there's something wrong

"What's wrong?" I ask, surprising her

"I was just so worried about you." She uses the sleeve of her sweater to wipe the tears off of her cheeks

"Well, I'm alright now. When can I be released?" I ask, looking at the short, female doctor, who is also looking at me

"Well, we need to check over your wounds and make sure your head has healed, but you should be able to leave tomorrow." She smiles at me, I return the gesture

~~~
The doctor said that my bullet wounds have healed well, and any other bruises or gashes are almost completely gone, only leaving scars behind. This is most likely due to my fast healing abilities. She said that my head has not fully healed from being blown into a tree, but it should be healed soon. I'm allowed out of the hospital, but I have to be very careful.
Khaos and the guys are waiting for me at the doors of the hideout, which is where we're still staying.
"Silver!" Khaos pushes his lips to mine, gently wrapping his arms around my back
"She's back!" The mutations cheer for me
We pull away slowly. I look into his eyes. He's looking at me the same way Lilian was when I first woke up. What aren't they telling me?
The realization hits me like a brick wall. The nurse told my father and Lilian not to say anything that would distress me. Khaos wasn't at the hospital with them yesterday. Kadence isn't in the hideout, or else he would be in my arms right now.
Little me woke me up yesterday because that's the day Kadence was captured!
"Where is Kadence?!" I begin searching frantically around the hideout, even though I know he isn't here
"Where is he?!" I scream, hoping that he'll appear in front of me, though I know he won't. I drop to my knees and hold my head in my hands
"Silver, I'm so sorry... We tried so hard to keep him from them..." Lilian wraps her arms around me. I turn and bawl into her shoulder
"We have to get him back..." I whisper, she nods
"We will. They're planning a rescue mission right now." She says, her voice quiet.
I stand up slowly, beginning to walk to the control room, where I assume is where the planing of the rescue mission is happening...
I'm going on this mission, and nobody can stop me.
