'Silver's POV'
I'm in the middle of unpacking my clothes into my dresser, when Misako walks into the room and over to me
"Silver, may I ask you a question?" She asks
"Sure." I fold my shirt, tuck it in the drawer and then look her in the eyes
"Were you given many needles when you were with the scientists?"
"Tons. Why?"
"Julia will not allow us to give her a shot of antiseptic, or let us stitch her wing. I was just wondering where her fear might have come from." She continues "Do you think you could get her to let us give her the shot? Her wing will get infected if we don't give it to her."
"Yeah, I can help." She leads me to the medical room and Julia immediately looks to me from the bed, she has tears in her eyes and streaks running down her cheeks
"Silver... I'm scared..." I kneel down beside the bed and take her small hand in mine
"I know, but these shots aren't like the ones the scientists gave you. This one will help you, so will the stitches." I trace my thumb on the back of her hand as I speak
"O-okay... Can I hold your hand while they do it..?" She asks
"Of course." I nod to Sensei. Her grip tightens as he sticks the needle into her wing by the wound, then starts to stitch it.
She sniffles and continues to cry
"It's almost over." I try to soothe her, but my breathing hitches when I look at the needle. I was never able to watch the scientists give me needles, it made me feel sick.
When they finish stitching her wing, Julia is asleep. I stand and make my way outside, feeling the need for fresh air.
I stand at the forests' edge, looking at the stars and the moon. A gasp escapes my mouth as I remember the first time I remember looking at the stars
In the blink of my eye, I'm standing in a field, next to a small house. It seems that the field goes on forever, there isn't anything else around, other than the sky, which is filled with stars... I can feel a connection to the house, almost like a memory...
"Mommy, let's go, let's go!!" A little girls voice rings through the house, and the front door is pushed open.
When I see the girls face, I remember what this memory is. This is the night that I was taken away from my parents. This was me, my long brown hair sways behind me as I run, my blue eyes wide with amazement.
"Don't go too far ..." She was supposed to say my name. I want for her to say my name so desperately, my real name. I want to know what it was, as if that could bring back more of my past.
A woman runs out the door, she also has long brown hair, but I can't see her face, it's... blurry?
A man follows her, his hair is blonde. But, his face is blurry too. Just from this scene, I know that these are my parents, but I can't remember what they look like, no matter how hard I try
"Slow down..!" She calls happily. Even through the blur, I can see that she's smiling
"Catch me daddy!" Little me runs back and jumps into the mans arms
"Good job sweetie!" He smiles and kisses my head, then points to the stars and the full moon.
My eyes, my real eyes, begin to get teary. I want them to say my name. I want to remember!
"Look at the moon, it's so bright." My mother smiles, lifting her head. I remember this
"No, don't do that!!!" I scream, but it's like they can't hear me "no! Mom!!" I begin screaming, running towards her
The memory begins to play in slow motion, and I can't move any faster than the memory allows me to
"Mommy!!" Little me screams as the bullet flies through my mothers chest. I watch as the blood flies and she slowly falls to the ground
"Mom!!"
I see my father shoving me into the house, then running to help my mother. They didn't kill my father, he's still alive, he's still out there somewhere...
The memory returns to normal speed, and I drop into a dark room. A light shines and I see little me laying on the cold, metal floor, chains attached to her wrists
A young Vanessa walks into the room, her slightly heeled shoes making a clacking noise every time she takes a step
"Raise your head child." Little me obeys and raises her head
"You will be my experiment, you will be successful and powerful. You will be one of the weapons we use to destroy this cruel world. You will be forever changed, forever better, forever here, in this institute, until the time comes when we will use you." She touches my cheek
"W-where are my parents..?" Little me asks, a tear running down her cheek
"Don't worry about that, you will never see them again." She takes her hand off of my cheek and stands.
Two white coats bring me into the room where I got my silver hair and wings.
I turn around. I had to live this once, I don't want to have to watch it too
"No, let me out!! I don't want to watch this!!" I scream, banging against the imaginary wall
"Silver..! Silver!!" I can her Cole's voice from a distance
"Cole, please, get me out!!" Tears fall from my cheeks. I hear little me scream from behind
"Silver, open your eyes!" His voice sounds closer than it did last time. I don't get it, my eyes are open
"I... I can't..." I squeeze my eyes shut as little me screams again
"Open your eyes!" Coles voice sounds close enough to be right beside me
"Cole..." I open my eyes and see that Cole is sitting on the ground with me on his lap
"Silver, what happened..?" He asks quietly. I can't answer him before I begin crying again. He pulls me into him and I push my face into his chest.
My mother... My family... My old life... Gone... All gone, all because of those sick scientists... I will kill them... Every last one...
