Chapter 11: Never Truly Safe

~A Few Days Later, At The Institute~

'Normal POV'

"Alright boys, you know the plan." Vanessa and the white coats had just hatched a new plan to capture Silver, Dezmend, Lilian and Julia again

"Yes ma'am!" They answer all at once

"Good, now go!" She demands. They all rush to get their weapons.

~At The Monastery~

'Silver's POV'

I stand in the teachers lounge, getting coffee for Nya, who didn't get much sleep last night. She was up working with the guys to make the monastery as safe as possible

"Silver, guess what!!" Lilian's voice catches me off guard and I almost drop the coffee pot

"What?" I ask, slowly beginning to pour the coffee into the mug

"Kai asked me out on a date!" She exclaims. I stop pouring and turn to her

"He did? I didn't know you two were that close." Her cheeks go pink and she smiles

"Yeah... I really like him Silver..." She look back up to me, waiting for a response

"I'm happy for you, Lilian," I smile

"Oh, thank you Silver!" She hugs me tightly and I let out a light laugh.

I carry the mug, carefully, down to Nya's classroom. I knock on the door before opening it slowly. I walk into the classroom full of children and set the mug down on Nya's desk

"Thank you, Silver." Nya smiles at me

"You're welcome." I then walk back out of the class, going to check on Dez.

When I get there, he isn't in his bed

"Dez!!... Dezmend?!" I begin to panic, then I see her

Her light brown hair is tied neatly into a tight bun, like usual. Her dark green eyes are narrowed at me and her signature evil smirk plays on her features.

Vanessa

"Where is he?!" I scream at her

"We're taking all of you back to where you belong, back the only place you can fit in. You should know it's no good to try and run away from us, we own you, you belong to us, to me." My eyes widen as I hear Wu's voice come on over the PA system

"Code red! School lock down!" I run out of the room before they can begin shooting, and rush into Nya's classroom, the classroom that Julia's in.

Nya and I huddle with the kids in a corner. We await the sound of gunshots, but, surprisingly, we don't hear any

Lilian is helping out in Kai's classroom today, I hope he can keep her safe.

I hear the scream I've known since I was only a small child, the one that woke me from sleep many times, the one that belongs to Lilian.

My instincts tell me to run to her, to try and help. I stand up and swiftly shake my arm from Nya's tight grasp, beginning to make my way to the door

"Silver, don't!" Nya whisper yells. I turn and look at her

"Keep everyone safe." By this time Nya has already stood up and is close enough to touch me

"Silver, you can't be putting yourself in danger." Her voice is still just above a whisper

"Nya, they're the only 'family' I have, and I'll do anything for them." I open the door, step out, and close it behind me

"Lilian!" I call for her, running through the halls.
