Chapter 27: I Have To

~One Week Later, At The Major Institution~

'Normal POV'

The institution has been getting call after call about missing mutants. Eight institutions have now reported that their mutations have been stolen

The boss of every institution in the world sits in a conference room, speaking through a microphone and multiple flatscreen televisions to the head of the smaller institutions. Including Vanessa

"I'm going to advise you all to kill off your experiments." The balding middle aged man states

"But, Mr. Skies, they're the ones who were supposed to live in our new world." A dark skinned, young woman says worriedly

"I understand that, but there is a rebellion growing, they are going to use our experiments against us. We can make more after this rebellion is finished, but, I need to know that there is nothing more for them to use against us." The others nod

"Sir, I think I have an idea of who might be leading this rebellion." Vanessa speaks up

"Who?" Mr. Skies asks

"My experiment, the one who had a child with Khaos." She says

"Ahh, experiment SVR... She was always a tricky one..." He taps on his chin, the looks back to the monitors "advise all security personnel to capture her at any opportunity." The others nod and write something down on their clipboards

"Mr. Skies, could we try to take control of the experiments brains?" A light skinned blonde woman asks

Mr. Skies waves an assistant over. He asks her something in a hushed tone, she shakes her head, answering him quickly

"I have been informed that all new mind controlling serums have failed. So, the answer is no. You must kill every experiment you have." 

"When will the killing of the experiments take place?" A pale red-headed male asks

"Tomorrow at 12:00 noon. No sooner, we begin at 12:00 sharp."

'Silver's POV'

We can only collect mutants when bombings are going on, so progress is slow, but we're still making progress.

The mutants are easy to train, they seem eager to learn.

"Guys, guys!" Kai and Jay run back into the hideout. They were in town trying to collect information

"What did you find?" Misako asks

"They're going to kill the mutants, all of them!" Kai exclaims, a look of panic on his face

"What?!" Almost everyone has the same response.

Why? I thought things were finally going to get better... Now this... We're never going to win...

"Silver, where are the most powerful mutations held?" Garmadon asks

"At the institute I was held in for a few weeks. They call it the 'major institution'." I answer

"You should try to save those mutations tonight, and any others in the area." He says. That makes sense, it's a good idea, but security is going to be thick at that place

"Okay, so all we've got to do is wait for nightfall." And that's what we do.

We drop onto the roof, peeling back a panel and dropping in. Every institute we've been to so far has had the same layout, but something tells me this one won't.
