chapter 27

Daniel left the bathroom, his disguise of the old curtain pulled closed, it was perfect for staying hidden from Johnny's friends who still picked on him, especially Dutch who Daniel wasn't really sure if Johnny was still friends with him. The only draw back to his disguise was he couldn't see through it, so leaving the bathroom he was staring at his feet and shuffling down the corridor hoping everyone would be able to see the massive walking shower and stay out of his way so he wouldn't bash into anyone.

He made his way into the Hall, the music was blaring and the room was slightly darker then the hallway. A few coloured lights splattering the floor. The door slammed shut behind him as he awkwardly stood in a random spot in the Hall. It was awkward and weird not seeing anyone who was around him but through the music he heard a few shouts.

"Cool costume!" A boy shouted and a girl giggiled.

"Yeah it's creative"

Daniel laughed slightly before replying knowing he was making a good impression on who ever these random people where. "Thanks" he shouted back over the music. As soon as he replied he noticed a pair of shoes near him before someone pulled the curtain open a little. Ali's blonde hair was wavy at her face and she was dressed in a witches hat and black dress.

"Hey Daniel!" She said happily. Daniel didn't know how she had recognised him but realised she must have heard her voice and smiled back.

"Hey Ali, like my costume" he said with a small smirk as he extended his arms in a way to show of even though his costume was only really the outside. In the inside he was just plain old Daniel larusso.

Ali shrugged lightly as her eyes travelled round the space. "It's uh... Unique?" She said with a small laugh trying to explain Daniels strange pick of a costume. Something must have come to her mind at this point as her eyes seemed to sparkle with something Daniel couldn't place his finger on.

"Sooo... You seen johnny?' She responded, a small curious and playful smile on her face. Daniel gave her a small laugh and looked away for a second knowing it was going to be hard to find Johnny when he couldn't even see who was in front of him.

" um.. No it's kinda hard to see like this" he joked slightly and Ali turned her head to the right, seeming to be keeping an eye on someone.

"Just keep walking straight, I'm sure he'll notice costume" she said with a small wink. Daniel laughed and nodded.

"Okay got ya" he said and Ali pulled away closes the opening back up. Daniel was thankful for Ali, she was a great friend to him when no one else was.

Daniel did as she said and awkwardly shuffled forward.

Johnny:

Johnny had just finished the cup as he put it back on the table, quickly wiping his mouth, not wanting to leave a trade for it for the teachers to wipe him out of the Hall. He didn't want Daniel to think he ditched him. He breathed lightly onto the back of his hand, the vodka mocking him slightly as it somehow seemed strong in his breath.

He shook the thought from his head, it was only a gulp it wasn't too much.

The others seemed to be chatting around him now but Johnny's eyes trailed over to a strange walking shower. Johnny's eye brow raised slightly at whoever this was choice of costume before remembering Daniels words,  that they both would try be unexpected so no one would know that they where talking to each other. Johnny still didn't trust must of his friends even knowing Daniel and him weren't fighting let alone.. The real feelings he had for him.

Johnny strolled up to the shower and pulled the material open at the opening, hoping to God it was Daniel other wise this would be a awkward interaction. He pulled back the material and instantly saw that tan brown skin and dark hair.
He smirked and stepped in closing the material behind him, seeing Daniels own smile and surprised eyes before noticing him.

"Skeleton, how original" Daniel joked making Johnny roll his eyes a little in a joking way. He and his friends always weared this outfit, to be honest he didn't know why now but it seemed to be a cobra kai classic.

"Yeah and your a shower how classy" he joked back leaning his hand on the metal shower pole. There eyes flicking over each other as they stared at each other for a minute.

Daniel finally broke the silence although it wasnt the awkward kind of silence more like a relaxed type.

"Hey I like this song" he said a small playful smile on his face as a song called break my stride by Matthew Wilder came on. Johnny didn't really know it but he had heard it before on the radio.

Daniel started dancing, clicking his fingers and doing a step back step forward. Johnny stared at him for a moment slightly surprised and also slightly in awe of Daniel how he seemed to have a good time even when he was currently dressed as a shower. Johnny hadn't really messed around dancing but he laughed and joined in anyway as the two started dancing to the loud beating music.

After a while, Johnny gently took hold of Daniels wrist.

"Come on, it's getting a bit loud, don't you think?" He said gently clearly wanting Daniel to go with him. Daniel smiled and nodded.

"Okay let's go" he said and Johnny happily led him out of the Hall and out of the school.

Once they got out of the school, Johnny pulled the curtain shower back and stepped out before pulling it back behind Daniel. He noticed Daniels nervous face for a moment.

"It's fine no body's going to see us" he said gently to reassure Daniel. He took his hand in Daniels and gave it a gentle squeeze as he led him behind the school.

The two chatted for a while, sitting on the slightly yellowed grass. And Johnny for once felt like he didn't just need to drink to have a good time and Daniel felt like he could finally talk to Johnny about anything.

"You know Danny, your really something you know?" Johnny finally said softly after a lode of joking. Daniel looked at him quickly his eyes searching Johnny's. Daniel clearly was surprised at his words and he chuckled lightly a small blush on his cheeks that when johnny noticed made his heart flutter.

"Something? Like what.." Daniel saidd softly a small smirk on his face at Johnny's words, the soft warm on his cheeks as Daniels eyes searched Johnny's curiously.

Johnny let out a small chuckle at Daniels curious gaze before his fingers gently tapped on his leg. He felt safe to tell Daniel plus no one was around.

"Well your like no other boy I've meant.. Not that I ever talked to a boy like this.. But your.. Just.. " Johnny's words drifted off slightly as he tried to find the words but nothing came to his mind as he looked away from Daniels face. That feeling that he loved yet hated again beating in his chest.

Daniel gave him a soft look as he searched Johnny's face, his own heart beating heavy against his chest. ".. Your not like any of them either. Your different.. A good different though.. " Daniel said softly and quietly but before he could continue a loud noise of cracking leaves and heavy footsteps became louder.

Making the twos heads shoot up in the direction.

Kreese:

Kreese had been told by Dutch that Johnny was acting weird. Kreese had asked what he meant and Dutch replied with something like.

"He's acting all soft now sensei. Weak now like that pussy larusso"

"What?.. Showing mercy is he?.. "

"Yeah.. I think he actually likes the kid now"

"Oh... Really?.. "

"Yeah, I don't know how he's gonna fight that loser in the todiment.. I mean.."

"I'll speak to him.."

"Sensei he'll be at the schools party so why don't you show up there, plus you might see the two pussys together"

Then the call hang up. Kreese was going to find Johnny, he was going to knock some sense into that kid.

Johnny was not a pussy.

Kreese wasn't going to let him be one.

Johnny was kreeses best student and kreese was going to keep it like that for as long as he wanted.
