(Ominis' Perspective)
I woke early the next morning, stirred by the storm outside, the rain tapping hard against my bedroom window.
"Well, so much for bed rest," I muttered.Next to me, Helena was still asleep.
I was grateful to have gotten any sleep at all. The nightmares of Sebastian, Helena, Anne, and my parents— they haunted me. But the worst dream, the one that stuck with me the most, was losing Helena to the Killing Curse by the Black Lake.
I slipped out of bed, pulled my green robe over my shoulders, and made my way downstairs. Flood, the house elf, was already waiting with a cup of coffee.
"Your coffee, Mr. Gaunt," he said politely."Thanks for the coffee, Flood," I replied.
I took a sip and listened to the kitchen bustling with life. The staff was already preparing breakfast and lunch. But eating at seven in the morning wasn't something I had to think about just yet. I took another sip and walked into the living room.
My sheet music was still on the couch from yesterday. I picked it up and read it with my wand in hand.
"So, this is a four-quarter beat. That means four quarter notes fit here. Or two half notes. Or one whole note. Or eight eighth notes. Or sixteen sixteenths. Thirty-two thirty-seconds..."
My head spun with the theory. Why couldn't I just learn by watching others? I placed my coffee on the table and went to the piano. I already knew two songs my grandfather had taught me last year. I let my fingers rest gently on the keys and began to play softly at first, then louder, letting the music carry me.

In my dream, I heard piano music and danced in the wind to the melody. But the dream was shattered by a loud crack of thunder outside.
"Yes, I'm awake! I'm on my way— wait, what?"
I rubbed my eyes and looked around, remembering I was at Gaunt Manor. I didn't have anywhere to be.
I sank back into Ominis' bed.
*Am I still dreaming? Where is that piano music coming from?*
I got up, threw on my robe and slippers, and followed the sound downstairs.
Before stepping into the room, I peeked around the corner. I wanted to be sure it was Ominis.
Behind the piano sat Ominis, dressed in a green bathrobe and pajama pants. His robe hung loosely at the chest, revealing his bare torso.
*Oh Merlin... He looks like a man, not a shy boy.*
His upper body was muscular, with visible scars on his shoulder. I couldn't take my eyes off him as he played.
"Ah, Mrs. Fig! Would you like a cup of coffee?" Flood asked, suddenly appearing beside me.
Ominis stopped playing as soon as he heard Flood say my name. He quickly pulled his robe closed and stood.
"Uh... good morning, Helena. Slept well?"
I stepped into the room, glancing at Flood.
"I'd like a cup of tea, thank you."I felt my cheeks redden as I walked toward Ominis. He seemed flustered, unsure whether I had seen him—or heard his music.
"I slept well, Ominis, thank you. And you?"
"My night was okay. I haven't slept properly in weeks... until this morning's storm," he said with a quiet laugh.
