(Sebastian's perspective)

The last few weeks of summer flew by faster than I expected.

I spent my days with Anne and Helena or alone at home, enjoying the quiet. Since asking Helena to be my girlfriend, we'd gone on a few proper dates, to the beach, the local market, and out for dinner. When we weren't on dates, I practiced for Quidditch, read, or played board games with Anne. I usually won though if I didn't, I always insisted on a rematch.

Every now and then, I visited Ominis at the Manor by myself. We talked, played our game, and just relaxed. Helena never joined us; she stayed home most of the time. She needed her rest, and I gave her as much space and peace as I could. Strangely enough, she'd even taught me how to braid hair and do a slicked-back ponytail. I wasn't sure why she felt the need to teach me, but it was fun learning new things with her.

Returning to Hogwarts felt... strange.

It was awkward stepping into the castle again after spending a year in Azkaban. Everything looked different smaller, even. The stairs weren't as steep, and walking through the halls felt easier than it ever had. Maybe that was a perk of being an Animagus now.

Before I could attend any classes, Professor Weasley requested a meeting. So I made my way to her office and knocked.

She opened the door with a smile "Ah, Mr. Sallow. Please, come in."

I took a seat facing the window as she settled in across from me.

"It's good to see you, Mr. Sallow. Did you have a good summer?"

I nodded.
"I did, Professor. I spent time at home with Anne, it was good to see her doing well again."

"That's lovely to hear. And your friends? Did you get to see them too?"

I looked out the window, then back to her.
"Yes. We caught up. Went to the lake. Did normal things. It felt good."

She leaned in slightly "What about Helena Fig? Did you see her this summer?"

My brows drew together as I tilted my head "I did... why are you asking?"

She laced her fingers.
"Garreth told me a few things. I'm concerned about her well-being. After everything that's happened, and with all she's still dealing with, she needs stability. I'm not sure if you can give her that, considering your history."

I leaned back in my chair and crossed my arms.
"Not that it's really any of your concern, Professor, but I am exactly what Helena needs right now."

She nodded slowly.
"Of course. I only want what's best for her. After Professor Fig passed, I took her in as one of my own. I feel responsible for her. Please, just be mindful. With her father in Azkaban, it may not be safe for her to wander. Stay indoors when you can."

I gave a small smile "She's safe with me. I promise."

She smiled back.
"I figured, since you're still the best duelist at Hogwarts, I can relax a bit. That said, there's something else. You missed a year of schoolwork. Your grades in a few classes aren't where they should be. How do you feel about some extra assignments?"

I sighed.
"Guess that's fair. If I ever want to become a professor myself, I'll need to catch up."

She pulled a stack of papers from her desk and handed them to me.

"These are the subjects with assignments. The last page lists students who can help tutor you. If you run into issues with any of them, come speak to me."

I thanked her, stood, and made my way to the door.

"One last thing, Mr. Sallow," she added with a raised brow. "Try to behave in the library. Mrs. Scribner nearly fainted when she heard you were coming back."
