(Helena perspective)
"Wait, hold on... Are you serious? You're not joking, are you?" Sebastian asked, concern clear in his voice as he crossed his arms.
"What's there to say, Sebastian? I've already been in a relationship with Ominis. I can't just throw that away because you want me to," I replied, my voice steady.
He eyed me from head to toe, shaking his head in disbelief. "Are you really serious right now?"
I nodded, my frown deepening. "You don't believe me?" I asked.
"It's hard to believe, yeah... You left here, all smiles and certain you wanted to be with me. What changed? Did he cast some kind of spell on you?" Sebastian gritted out, his teeth clenched.
"OMINIS WOULD NEVER DO THAT! HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT?" I shouted, my eyes filling with tears.
Sebastian remained silent, waiting for me to continue.
I sighed. "This morning, I asked for your advice. You told me to break up without a second thought. I get it, you love me, you want to be with me. But you didn't consider Ominis at all. It was like he didn't even matter to you. That kind of made me realize something... You're so wrapped up in what you want, Sebastian. It's always about you. I saw it then. And honestly? That freaked me out," I snapped, folding my arms across my chest.
"Do you have proof of that?" he challenged, a grin creeping onto his face.
"What proof?" Ominis's voice came from behind me, his presence unexpected but comforting.
I turned to him, offering a small smile. "Nothing. He's just overreacting."
Sebastian wasn't having it. "Come on, show me. Prove it. Show me how self-centered I am. You can't just say that without backing it up."
With a sigh, I reached into my bra and pulled out a carefully folded picture, slamming it into Sebastian's chest. "There's your proof, Sallow."
He opened the picture and looked at it, his eyes bouncing from me to Ominis and then back to the photo. "What am I supposed to see here? We all look happy. Look, I'm even smiling," he chuckled, holding it up for emphasis.
"You weren't happy, Sebastian," Anne interjected, her voice cutting through the tension. "Even I could see it when I took that picture."
Sebastian looked at her, confused.
Anne continued, "Your eyes, the way you were holding her hand... There was something else behind that smile. You were jealous, angry, disappointed... because she was enjoying herself with Ominis too."
Silence fell over us for a long moment, broken only when Anne spoke again. "Why were you angry, Sebastian? It was such a nice day..."
"BECAUSE OF HIM!" he snapped, pointing a shaking finger at Ominis.
Both Anne and I stared at him in disbelief.
"Helena is mine! She was always mine, and she still is. We made an unbreakable vow. Nothing changes that! Not even you!" Sebastian shouted, his wand raised. "DESCENDO!"
Without thinking, I stepped in front of Ominis, raising my wand. "PROTEGO!"
Ominis stepped forward, his expression cold. "We've had this conversation before, Sebastian. Helena is not yours to control. She's her own person, and she can make her own choices. You've just shown everyone exactly who you are. I'm done with your attitude. It was bad enough when you tried to curse me at the manor, but I'm not falling for your lies or your manipulative tears anymore. I don't want to be your friend anymore."
The words hit Sebastian like a bolt of lightning. He crossed his arms, scowling. "Fine. But she's staying!" he pointed at me.
"Sebastian, I'm not sure I want to stay anymore..." I said, my voice tinged with sadness. "You're freaking me out. Where's that sweet man from before?"
"I'm not him anymore. So, what's it going to be? Are you staying or going with him?" His eyes narrowed.
Anne gently smiled. "I think it's better to leave..."
I nodded, my heart heavy. "I'll leave." I took Ominis' hand, and with a flick of his wand, we apparated back to the manor.
-Five Years Later-
Letter:
Dear Anne,It's been five years since I last saw Sebastian. After our conversation in Feldcroft, he disappeared without a word, both to Ominis and me. I know you're worried now, with the pictures of him circulating... It's heartbreaking to see how far he's fallen. I wish things had been different.
How are you doing? How are the twins? And what about Garreth? Did he end up taking the professor job in Potions? Ominis and I just returned from our honeymoon in America. It was an incredible trip, and we met some wonderful people. His parents decided to leave the manor after our wedding, so it's all ours now. We're planning to rebuild Gaunt Imagines, and I'm so proud of everything Ominis has in mind for the company.
I hope to see you and your beautiful family soon. How does July 8th sound?
Much love,
Helena- The END-
