(Sebastian's perspective)

I woke up with the warmth of the morning sun resting on my face and legs.

Since when did I get the morning light in my room at the manor?

I blinked a few times, disoriented. This wasn't my room.

I looked down, Helena was asleep in my arms, one arm flung over my chest, the other clutching the blanket. My left arm was wrapped around her like instinct. She was peaceful, pressed close to me, breathing evenly.

This was real.

I tried to shift out of bed without waking her, but she stirred as I moved.

Her bright blue eyes blinked open. She glanced from my chest to her arm resting across me, and then quickly pulled back to her side of the bed. She yawned, trying to play it off. "Sorry... I fell asleep on my side of the bed, I promise."

I grinned, stretching. "I don't mind. You can sleep in my arms if you like." I teased, turning to face her. We just lay there for a moment, quiet and looking.

"What am I doing here?" I asked, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.

"You were drunk with Ominis. Probably walked into the wrong room and crashed on my bed. I let you sleep," she said with a sleepy smile.

"What are you doing here?" I said more seriously. "Ominis told me you were staying in his room last night."

She sighed and rolled onto her back. "He threw me out. Said he wanted to sleep. I wanted to... do other things."

I mirrored her posture. "What an ass," I muttered, annoyed.

She turned her head. "Like you care, Sebastian. You love this drama."

I laughed. "Of course I do."

There was a pause before she said, "I read your poems, Sebastian."

"Really? Which ones?" I reached for the notebook on the bed's edge and opened it.

She pointed to the two she'd read.

"You did?" I looked at her, surprised.

She just nodded, turning her eyes back to the ceiling. "I'm sorry I didn't say anything last night. When we were flying on Drathena."

"It's okay," I said, softly. "I know you don't see me that way anymore. Not after everything."

"I always loved you more than a friend, Sebastian. I never stopped."

We both turned, locking eyes in silence.

(Helena's perspective)

I knocked gently on Ominis's bedroom door, but there was no answer.

I waited, then knocked again before pushing it open.

He was sitting on the edge of his bed, staring into nothing.

I hurried in and knelt in front of him, taking his hands in mine. "What's wrong, love?"

He sighed, staring at our joined hands. "I've decided not to go with you to the lake today."

My fingers curled tighter around his. "Why? What's bothering you?"

He looked up at me, his eyes glassy. "I think... I need to let you and Sebastian figure things out. If I go, I'll just be in the way. He told me things last night, things about you two that I didn't even know. You've never told me those stories, Helena. Why? Don't you trust me?"
