(Helena's Perspective)Only three days remained before summer vacation ended, and everyone would return to Hogwarts.
The past few days had flown by, and despite the tension between Ominis and me, we had managed to coexist peacefully. After our last emotional confrontation, we slipped into a kind of silent truce. We spent time together—walking, reading, eating, dancing, and even practicing magic—but we never addressed what we were. Friends? Best friends? Something more? We left those questions unspoken.
We kept our distance physically, honoring the boundary we'd both silently agreed upon. No hugs, no shared rooms. Just two people sharing space, trying not to ignite what was clearly simmering between us.
That morning, the manor buzzed with activity as everyone prepared breakfast. I wasn't hungry. My sleep had been restless, plagued again by nightmares. Now that my thoughts weren't constantly occupied by him, the darkness had crept back in.
I stood in front of my mirror, debating whether to wear my hair up or down.
*Why does it even matter? No one's going to notice either way.*
A knock at the door interrupted my spiral.
"Come in," I called.Flood entered, holding an envelope.
"Ah, Miss Fig, a letter for you," he said, placing it on my desk."Thank you, Flood," I replied.
"We'll be serving breakfast in five minutes." He nodded and closed the door behind him.
I grabbed the letter and lay on my bed to read it.
*A letter from Garreth.*
-Letter-Hi Helena,
Sorry about my clumsy behavior last time. I swear I'll stop experimenting with potions... Okay, maybe just one more time.
Sunday's my birthday, and you're invited to my party. What's a party without some questionable potion-mixing and drinks, right?
Put on your best outfit and bring a +1. See you Sunday!
Oh, and P.S.
Grandma and Grandpa are already at the castle, so it's a private gathering.– Garreth
*A party before the school year starts? That actually sounds fun.*

I already knew the perfect gift—a Mix and Match vial case I'd spotted in Hogsmeade. Perfect for a potion-loving disaster like Garreth.
I threw on clothes quickly and raced downstairs toward the dining room.
At the table, Ominis sat sipping coffee and reading the Daily Prophet.
"Good morning, Helena," he greeted.
"Morning, Ominis."
I sat across from him, studying his face.
"Helena, I can sense you staring. What's going on?" he asked without looking up.
I sat straighter and grabbed a sandwich.
"We're going to a party on Sunday," I said with my mouth full."Excuse me? We? Party?" he frowned.
"It's Garreth's birthday, and I'm invited. I can bring a guest—and I choose you."
"You want me to go to Garreth Weasley's birthday party?"
"Yes!" I beamed.
"Fine," he sighed. "But we're not staying late. I want a normal sleep schedule before school starts."
