This is a spin-off featuring an alternate ending to the story. Enjoy!

What if Helena had made a different choice after Chapter 57?

After Helena's death, Evander resurrected her in the manor. However, his powers were not enough to fully heal her. Unable to do more, he left her in the company of her friends while he retreated to recover his own strength. As Helena followed him through the gardens, she caught a glimpse of his distant gaze. But instead of dying, he didn't stay, he apparated away, disappearing from sight.

(Helena's perspective)

I looked at Evander with tears in my eyes and whispered, "You saved me... again. Thank you."
We embraced, and he softly spoke, "Follow your heart and the stars, and let them guide you to where you truly want to be." He left the room in silence as I turned to my friends, pulling them into a tight group hug.

Without wasting a moment, I hurried after Evander, who was stumbling through the front yard toward the gate. "Where are you going?" I asked, catching up to him. He glanced back over his shoulder "I'm going home, soulmate. Don't follow me," he replied, his voice distant.

I grabbed his hand, gently pulling him back. "You're not well... Stay for a while. Heal here, then you can go home."

He shook his head, stepping forward. "I have to... I need to say goodbye to my family."
He walked through the gate, and with a final glance at me, his body disappeared in a flash of light.

As soon as he vanished, a lump formed in my throat. He saved my life, even knowing his own body wasn't strong enough to do it... My heart clenched with fear and anxiety. Was he hurt? Was he dying? Why did he leave so quickly? He couldn't even look me in the eye as he went.

Before I knew it, my knees buckled, and I fell to the soft dirt below. Why had he done it? Why had he saved me, instead of letting my soul rest in peace, as I'd longed for? His healing powers still coursed through me, but how was he healing himself if I carried his magic?

A soft voice called my name.

"Lena..."

I turned slightly and saw Ominis kneeling behind me, his eyes filled with concern.
"Where is Evander?" he asked, his voice tight with worry.

"He... he apparated away from me," I whispered, tears flowing freely now.

Ominis knelt beside me, wrapping his arms around me as tightly as he could. His knees sank into the wet dirt, but he didn't care. He held me, offering what little comfort he could.

"Why didn't you stop him?" I blurted out, my words raw with emotion.

He didn't answer at first. He just held me tighter, as if scared to let me go.

After a long pause, Ominis spoke softly, trying to ease the tension. "He did it for you, darling. I tried to change his mind, but he wouldn't listen. He feared you were dead, that your soul might leave your body. He wanted to bring you back to the people who loved you. He gave you his powers to save you... It was the only way to bring you back. He wanted to hold onto some of it, but your body needed everything. So he gave you everything, leaving himself weak and vulnerable."

A new voice interrupted, calm but filled with sorrow. "His decision wasn't easy, but he did it for his own reasons..." Anne spoke, kneeling in front of me, gently taking my hands in hers. There were tears in her eyes as well.

"My dear, he died for love," she said, her voice thick with emotion.

I shook my head, tears still streaming. "He shouldn't have."
