(Helena's Perspective)

The next day, Ominis and I lounged on our large picnic rug near the waterfall. The warm sun dried the droplets on our skin after a swim, and the gentle rush of falling water was a soothing soundtrack to our moment. A wicker basket between us brimmed with sandwiches, fresh fruit, and drinks in bright hues of yellow, red, and orange.

Birds darted through shafts of sunlight above us, chirping as they gathered twigs and leaves for their nests. Overhead, soft white clouds drifted lazily across the vivid blue sky.

I leaned back, soaking in the warmth, my mind still lingering on everything that had happened yesterday, our dance, our quiet conversation in the courtyard... our first time together. And then, of course, the strange figure who'd whispered to me, calling himself this Wolf.

I plucked a few grapes from the basket and popped them into my mouth. "Ominis," I mumbled, mid-bite.

He laughed. "Finish chewing before you talk, Lena."

I swallowed quickly, chuckling. "Yesterday, someone approached me, called himself this Wolf. Did you notice anyone like that at the ball?"

He tilted his head slightly, giving me a curious look. "Did he smell like old books, parchment... and cinnamon?"

I blinked, startled by how accurately he'd described it. "Yes! Exactly that. It was oddly familiar. So you do know who it was?"

He sighed and tossed a small pebble into the water. "That was Gino. We passed him on the dance floor yesterday, he was Anne's date. He had that exact scent... reminded me of Sebastian, actually. He always smelled that way."

My chest tightened. "Do you think Gino was Sebastian?"

He hesitated, then threw another pebble. "I'm not sure. But it's possible. Anne mentioned seeing him recently. And now this? I wouldn't be surprised."

I looked down at my feet and took a sip of the orange drink. "What if he saw us? I mean, really saw us together. We were going to tell him, eventually.. but not like that. He'd be furious."

Ominis gently reached for my hand. "Don't worry, love. If it was him, he'll come to us. Anne already spoke with him... and we will too, when the time's right."

(Ominis's Perspective)

Helena drifted into silence again. Her thoughts were heavy, I could sense it. The forest around us was so quiet, I could almost hear the gears turning in her mind.

After what felt like half an hour, she finally stirred. She reached for two glasses, filled them with the red drink, and handed one to me. Then she turned, her voice softer now. "Tell me about your parents, Ominis."

I sat up, took a slow sip, and cleared my throat.

"As I told you in my letter... I confronted them. It went as planned, maybe even better than I expected. I didn't go in with much hope, to be honest. You know how my father is, he never bends. But I laid out everything clearly. Sat at the desk like I was presenting a business deal. All my terms, my future, my conditions, they were written in that contract."

I pulled the folded parchment from my pocket and handed it to her. She read quietly, eyes scanning every line. When she finished, she looked up.

"You were clever about this, Ominis. It's thorough... everything you wanted is in here. And Marcus and Marelie signed it. But..." she frowned, "I'm not sure it was wise to put the consequences in writing. I thought you'd confront them verbally, not... lock it into paper. That could come back to haunt you."
