(Ominis Perspective)
When Sebastian asked Helena if she would consider being with both of us, I was stunned.
Not because I was offended, but because I genuinely hadn't expected it from him.
Sebastian Sallow, the boy who never shared anything. Not his books, not his space, and certainly not his heart. And yet, here he was, suggesting the unthinkable. I realized then it wasn't about desire, it was fear. He was terrified of losing her... maybe to me.
The three of us stood in the center of the Undercroft, locked in silence.
Helena's gaze flicked between the two of us, her breathing shallow, quick. Sebastian stared at her, his brows drawn, waiting hopeful, maybe. Or desperate.
"It could work, you know," he said suddenly, the corners of his mouth twitching into a grin. "Just the thought of you with another man would wreck me. But if I had to share you... it would be with him."
He pointed at me.
Helena crossed her arms, disbelief all over her face. "You can't be serious."
I stepped in, voice calm. "Don't act like it never crossed your mind, Ambrose. Do you remember our talks?"
Sebastian arched a brow, intrigued. "What talks?"
I kept my eyes on Helena as I answered. "Back before he returned, we used to wonder, what if Sebastian came back? Would you pick one of us? Or both? You never gave an answer... but you were thinking about it. I could see it in your eyes."
I folded my arms as well, echoing her stance, waiting.
Sebastian chuckled. "You know, a little birdie told me you wanted both of us at the beach..."
I looked over at him, narrowing my eyes slightly. "Anne?"
He nodded with a smirk.
We both looked at Helena now. I noticed goosebumps rising on her arms as she backed away slightly, her expression a mix of confusion and hesitation.
"Where are you going, sweetheart?" Sebastian asked, taking a single, careful step toward her. "Don't run from us."
"Tell us what you want," I said gently, moving toward her as well.
She stepped back until her spine hit the cold stone wall of the Undercroft. Her eyes moved rapidly between us me, then Sebastian, then back again. We were closing in, not with force, but intent.
"Just say the words, Helena," Sebastian murmured as he reached out and gently traced a line down her cheek, then pulled lightly at her bottom lip with his thumb. "You want us."
She blinked slowly, as if trying to will away the heat rising in her face. I brushed a lock of hair from her temple, letting my fingers graze down the side of her neck and across her collarbones. Her skin shivered beneath my touch.
Her breathing hitched. I could feel the rhythm of her heart, racing, unsteady, echoing in every inch of her. The way she bit her lip and stared at us, it was almost too much.
If Sebastian wasn't here, and she was mine in this moment...
Her lips parted, and in a whisper, she said it.
"I do."
Sebastian and I stepped forward, in sync, drawn toward her like magnets. Just one more breath, one more second-
And then we froze.
Literally.
*Glacius.*
The spell encased us in cold, unmoving silence.
